This application updates / modifies the existing drawing number into the specified field. You can increment the character / number as per your requirement. Prefix and suffix are used for character increment and drawing number is used for number increment. This can be run over selected drawings as well.

How to locate

Installers are available at Drawing number update and Empty drawing generation.

After installation, the 'Drawing number update' application is available in the component catalog group 'Drg No Update and Empty Drg Generation'.

Usage

Run application from component catalog

Selection

Option to process all drawing or selected drawings from drawing list. Also specific drawing type only processed at a time.

Filter

Existing no at	Option to choose existing series Mark Name Title1 Title2 Title3
Existing start no	Enter number and it used to filter the drawing if the number is greater than this on above selected field
Number position	Option to choose between 1 to 5. This will be useful when existing number as like "Proj2571Beam101" where the actual number series at second set. For this instance select 2 as position.
Filter type	Particular drawing series can be filtered using this option and options are Contains Starts with Ends with
Filter value	The value of the filter. Ex 'Beam' for the drawing series "Proj2571Beam101". If not required leave empty.
Name filter type	Additional filter option based on 'Name' value and mainly used for GA drawings where 'Mark' won't give proper filter and use this filter. Options are Equal Contains Starts with Ends with
Name filter value	Value for the above filter. If not required leave empty.

Drawing No

Number of drawings	Based on filter creteria, how many drawings are to be updated. If you want all drawings are to be updated then enter higher value
Numbering format	This is a option to choose between format as below 100 A100 A100X 100X
Increment type	This dropdown option varies based on numbering format options. Overall options are Number Prefix Suffix
Exclude alphabet	Most of the time some characters are not used for numbering such as i,o,l and those letters can be entered as comma separated
Write to	The new series are to be written to the following drawing properties Name Title1 Title2 Title3 User Field 1 to User Field 8
Clear	This clear the existing number series at above selected properties. This applies based selection of drawings and type of drawings opted.

Prefix, Number and Suffix

• Prefix, Start No & suffix can accept alpha numeric characters.
• Prefix & suffix increment type use first set of character for increment. For example if the value is "A5" then increment will be "A5", "B5", "C5", ...
• Number increment type uses the first set of numbers for increment. For example if the value is "A5" then increment will be "A5", "A6", "A7", ...
