Convert plate (m173)
System component Convert Plate (m173) can be used to create a contour plate of a "beam" plate.
In the model a plate will be created with the same properties as the original plate. UDA's can be used to store info from the original part.
Limitation: Fit part end, Line cut and part cut are not always considered!
Note: in case you want to convert a contour plate to a "beam" plate use tool ML521.

1. Pick the point where you want to create the new plate.
2. Select the original plate.

Picture tab
The "Picture" tab shows the working of the tool: convert a "beam" plate into a contour plate.
The conversion can be applied on selected beam plates.
Settings tab
The "Settings" tab can be used to define the settings of the contour plate.

| Name | The name of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the name of the original part. |
| Material | The material of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the material of the original part. |
| Class | The class of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the class of the original part. |
| Part prefix | The part prefix of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the value of the original part. |
| Part start number | The part start number of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the value of the original part. |
| Assembly prefix | The assembly prefix of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the value of the original part. |
| Assembly start number | The assembly start number of the new plate. Default (left empty) will copy the value of the original part. |
| Explode component | Explode the component after copying. The options are: • No • Yes |
| Delete original part | Delete the original part after copying. The options are: • No • Yes |
Chamfers tab
The "Chamfers" tab can be used to define the chamfer type and its dimensions per corner.
The available types are:
Depending on the selected chamfer type, the value boxes become available.
UDA tab
The "UDA" tab can be used to define in which UDA the values of the original plate should be written (e.g. if you enter "comment" to the "Original part position", the "Original part position" will be copied into UDA "comment").
About tab
Information about the "build" date of the tool. This date may differ from the date in the tool you are using, but the content may nevertheless be the same. This date may be required when you contact the helpdesk.
