Flipped Rebar

Purpose and Description

With this extension, you can fold, scale, and move rebar in drawings. The sidebar allows you to efficiently edit all selected rebar , eliminating the need to fold each bar individually .

System requirements

This extension is only available to maintenance customers of BuildingPoint Schweiz AG.
You need Tekla Structures 2021 or later to use the extension. The extension is recommended and quality-assured for Tekla Structures 2022 and later.

Install Flipped Rebar

Once you have downloaded the extension from Tekla Warehouse, you will find the sidebar in drawing mode:

Sidebar"Folded Rebar"

The sidebar is divided into two areas:

1. In the upper area, you'll see a table with all selected reinforcements. When you select new reinforcements, they will be listed in the table. Selected reinforcements will be highlighted in the drawing or in the table.
2. In the lower area you will find the detailed properties and the modification commands.

Eigenschaften

• Characteristics

• Flipped Rebar: Activates the folded display. All subsequent properties only have an effect when this option is enabled.

• Change folding direction: Activate this option if the initial display doesn't fit. For example, you might want to fold the reinforcement "up" instead of "down."

• Additional displacement: Specify a value in mm to shift the reinforcement in the direction of installation. Use negative values to shift in the opposite direction.

• Perpendicular displacement: Specify a value in mm to move the reinforcement perpendicular to the installation direction. Use negative values to move in the opposite direction.

• Scale: Specify a scale factor to distort the folded view. For example, use "0.9" to shrink the reinforcement to 90% of its original size. Use the displacement values to move the reinforcement to the desired location if necessary.

Tips and Tricks

If you make adjustments directly in the table, use the "Change (*)" command to apply the changes made in the table.

Once reinforcement is listed in the table, it will not be removed from the table until you change the drawing or use the "Empty Table" command.

Use the options in the "Properties" group to apply individual options to all reinforcements or to the reinforcements selected in the table/drawing. Select "Selected" or "All" to the right of the corresponding option to apply this property to the corresponding reinforcements.

Reinforcement representation

The flipped rebar is displayed with the reinforcement properties for "hidden edges." This is because the plugin controls the original reinforcement display (line) via the visible edge and switches to "transparent"/unprinted when folded.

Known limitations

• The geometry is displayed as square, bending radii are currently not supported.
• Only one scaling factor is supported.
• The position of the folding in views that were moved using "Show views in model" is incorrect.
• The position of the fold in rotated views on the drawing is incorrect.
