Component Border rebar (92) creates pins (U-bars), stirrups and edge bars on all edges of a concrete slab or a concrete panel.

Before you start
Create a slab or a panel where you want to place border rebars.

1. Activate the component.
2. Select the slab or the panel where you want to create border rebars.
The border rebar details are created automatically.
Pins tab
In the Pins tab, the parameters of the pin bars are defined.

| Size | Select pin size. |
| End conditions left | Select the end hook type for the left side of the pin bar. Default is no hook. The options are:

| End conditions right | Select the end hook type for the right-side of the pin bar. Default is no hook. The options are:

| Bend lengths left | Define the length of the left hook. Available, if other than Default value is selected in End conditions left. |
| Bend lengths right | Define the length of the right hook. Available, if other than Default value is selected in End conditions right. |
| 1 | Select shape of the pin bars. The options are:

Zone 1 Zone 2 Zone 3 | Define different parameters for pin bars in different zones. The options are:

| Border rebar | Select whether exact spacing between pin bars should be kept. The options are:

| Different spacing for horizontal and vertical | Define whether the spacing for horizontal pin bars and vertical pin bars should differ. The options are:
|
| No pins if border length is less than | Enter length of concrete object side where you don't want the pin bars to be created. The pin bars won't be created on all borders which has the same or lower value as the entered length. |
| If border length is less than | This setting is coupled with the next one, Distance between pins is equal to. It allows to enter length of concrete object side, for which the user desire to set equal distance between pin bars. |
| Distance between pins is equal to | This setting is coupled with the one above, If border length is less than. Enter the value for distance between pins on all borders which have the same or lower border length as the value entered in the setting above. |
Stirrups tab
In the Stirrups tab the settings for stirrups are defined.

This can be set for vertical stirrups on opposite sides separately. Also, it is possible precisely define for which vertical stirrups the settings will be applied. The options are: Image

The Edgebars 1 tab is used to define if edge bars are created and their parameters.

Edgebars 2 tab
The Edgebars 2 tab is used to define parameters of edge bars when sides of concrete part are sloped.

Also it is possible to select shape and dimensions of edge bars conjunction when two sloped sides meet. The options are: Image

| 3 | Select the shape and define the dimensions when the right-side corner has less than 90°. The options are: Image
|
| 4 | If the set value of sloped side is higher than the dimensions of sloped sides of concrete object, the edge bars are not respecting the slope. |
Edgebars door tab
Use the Edgebars door tab to define the number, the shape, the dimensions of edge bars around door opening and the concrete cover thickness.

In the Edgebars opening 2 tab the settings for edge bars around opening inner corners are defined.

Diag bars tab
In the Diag bars tab the settings for diagonal rebars in the corners of openings are defined.

In the Advanced tab, properties of Edge bars, Pins, Stirrups and Diagonal bars are defined.

Edge bars opening | Multiple properties of the Edge bars groups, such as comment, name, class, serie and start number, can be defined here. Number of groups can be selected by the Rebar group option. The options are: Image

Diagonal bars outer
Diagonal bars opening | Multiple properties of the Diagonal bars can be defined here. |
| Overlap rebars | Decide how the rebars should behave in case of multiple openings. The options are: Image

| Use standard rebar lengths | Decide, whether around openings and recesses, when the rebars are straight, the standard rebar lengths should be used. |
| Available lengths | Write in the field standard rebar lengths which are available. |
| Max. extra length | Write in the field the value for maximum extra length condition. |
| Max. extra shorten | Write in the field the value for maximum extra shorten condition. |
Configuration tab
In Configuration tab, configuration settings are defined.

| Bending radius | Bending radius for Pins, Edge bars and Diagonal bars are defined here. When rebar_database.inp is selected, the radius values defined in Rebar catalog for main bars and tie/stirrup will be used. With the two other options, Main radius and Hook radius input fields become active for user to define the radius values. When Relative to diameter is selected, the input value is the multiplier of the diameter. The options are:

| Detect outside geometry | This setting can be used to configure how part cuts are detected inside the concrete part. Typically this setting is needed when concrete part has recess cuts. The plane which is used to search for part cuts can be moved with two parameters: Distance in material and Position in plane option menu (Back, Middle, Front). The plane location is visualized if Draw geometry with profiles is set to Yes. |
| Detect neg. volume | If a recess cut is applied to the concrete part, you can use Difference in thickness to control if the recess cut should be considered or not. |
| Draw geometry with profiles | Option to create construction lines to visualize the location of the part cut detection plane. The location can be changed with Distance in material. The options are:

| Draw axis | Option to visualize component internal coordinate system. If Yes is selected, three small diameter round parts are created at component axis, starting from the origin. The options are:

| Show ref border number | The number of points on the side indicates reference border number. The options are:
|
| Extra rotation | The tool creates pins, stirrups and edge bars according to the selected axis. The options are:

| Ignore cutout classes | The tool ignores parts of concrete objects according to selected classes. |
| Ignore cutout names | The tool ignores parts of concrete objects according to selected classes. |
| Cast unit geometry | Decide whether the pins, stirrups and edge bars should be created in all concrete objects which are part of the cast unit. The options are:
