Use the Parameters tab in the Ayrshire Cold Rolled Overlap Properties panel to control how the sleeve is defined within Tekla Structures.

| Cleat length | This defines the full length of the cleat. For standard or non-standard cleats, it need only be given where the length is not to be the same as that derived from the standard hole positions. For a connection to a stanchion web, the cleat may be automatically extended to preserve the top end distance for the holes. Some cleats, e.g. angles, cannot be extended in this way, and so an alternative cleat must be used by specifying the cleat profile in the parts tab. | This value will come from the data files. | Image

| Cleat Orient (Default, Along, Up) | This sets whether a non-standard cleat's length is along the rafter, or up from the rafter. For flat plates the default is set to Up. For angle cleats the default is set to Along. | The default is set to Default. | Image

| Cleats are (Bolted, Welded) | This specifies whether the cleat is welded or bolted to the rafter. If the cleat profile is not explicitly given in the parts dialogue the standard profile will be used from the data files. | The default is set to Welded. | |||||
| Bolt-on Cleat Centres | This centres between the two bolts in the bolt on plate in mm. If centres is zero one bolt will be placed in the plate. | This value will come from the data files. | Image

| Overhang dim. Gables only | This specifies the overhang dimension for a gable end only. The dimension is measured from the centre of the cleat. | Where a sleeve is defined the purlin will be cut back to the standard manufacturer's end gap and the sleeve will be positioned to the overhang. | Standard Bolts to Rafter | This defines the standard of all bolts that pass through the rafter in the joint. Available standards are defined in the bolt assembly database. | The default is to have the same standard that applies to the bolts to the purlin. | |||||
| Standard Bolts to Purlin | This defines the standard of all bolts that pass through the purlins in the joint. Available standards are defined in the bolt assembly database. This standard also applies to all bolts to the rafter providing the standard of these bolts is not explicitly set by the following parameter and to the bottom stay bolts if a bolt standard is not specified in the stay data file. | The default setting is 4.6XOX. | |||||
| Stays on (None, Both, Right, Left) | This allows the user to define whether they want rafter stays or not, and to place them on only one side of the rafter/stanchion if required. You may wish to include both rafter stays at an overhang in order to allow for future extensions. | Stays Horiz Dimension | This sets the position of the stay bolt along the purlin, measured from the centre of the cleat. | The default position is included in the data files and may be the same as a hole used for another purpose (e.g. sleeve). However, if a value is entered here, then completely separate bolt will be defined even if it coincides with another hole. | |||||

| Stays to (Haunch, Rafter) | This determines where the stays should be positioned if the joint is applied above a haunch. If this is set to haunch the stays will be attached to the haunch otherwise they will be positioned to go to the rafter. WARNING (see images): If the stay is applied to the haunch and the haunch profile is subsequently modified the stays position will not be re-calculated. This can be resolved by modifying the colded rolled sleeved joint using it’s existing parameters. NOTE: The haunch must be part of the system haunch connection typically using components 40 or 102. | The default is set to Haunch. |

| Stay Bolt diameter | Where the stay is connected to a cleat, this field specifies the diameter for the bolt connecting the cleat to the rafter/column. Where the stay is connected to a plate and welded to a rafter/column, this field is only relevant if several bolt diameters are applicable to any one stay profile – usually the fabricator’s own. This has to be set up in one of the cold rolled data files before running the joint – contact Tekla Structures support for assistance. | This value will come from the data files. | |||||
| Heavy end bay system (Default, Off) | This allows control over the handling of heavy end bays. If set to Default and one of the purlins selected is of a heavier gauge, then a heavy end bay system will be assumed to exist. The overlap and hole layout will be modified automatically using heavy end bay information obtained from data files. If this option is switched Off then no change will be made to the overlap hole positions. The backs of purlins forming a heavy end bay system must be aligned for the connection to proceed successfully. | The default is set to Default. |
