Specific stock and lap length is used for the rebar sets with bar grades and sizes listed in the manufacturers file. Firstly, the length of the rebar set is checked according to the manufacturer.

Select the manufacturer of the reinforcement.

Options:

  • Company_A
  • Company_B
  • Company_C

The maximum bar lengths and lap lengths are then listed by the grade and size of the bar.

If needed, you can define the manufacturer information in the AutomaticSplicingTool_Manufacturers.dat file.

You can find the file here: \Tekla Structures\<version>\environments\common\system , and edit it.

2Unspecified stock and lap length is used for the rebar sets with bar grades and sizes not listed in the manufacturers file.
Maximum length of barsDefine the maximum length of bars which should be split.
Lapping length

Define the lapping length of the splitters. The lapping length can be defined by:

  • Distance
  • Coefficient of bar diameter
3Splicing in the same cross sectionDefine which proportion of the reinforcement can be spliced in the same cross section.
Splicing symmetry

Define the symmetry that is applied when the reinforcing bars are spliced.

Options:

Splicing offsetDefine the offset of the splice center point.
Minimum splitting distance

Define the minimum longitudinal distance between two parallel bar splices.

Options:

  • Distance
  • Coeficient of lap length
Bar position

Define the bar position.

Options:

  • Bars parallel to each other
  • Bars on top of each other
4Filter on selected objectUse filter to create splitters on the filtered rebar sets.
