System component Arrange views in drawings (ML147) is used for the arrangement of selected views in the drawing using the XLSX file format.

Use for

The component can be used in 2 following manner:

1. Usage in the model - multiple drawings can be selected and the layout is arranged in all of them at once.

2. Usage in the drawing - The layout is arranged in the current drawing.

Before you start

Create a XLSX file to which the configuration will be written.

In case the file is not created in advance, then the file is created automatically in the model folder after entering the name in the field and saving the configuration.

Selection order

There are 3 possible ways how to work with this component:

Create a new XLSX file
1. Create the XLSX file to write the configuration in.
2. Add the views to the table manually and set the layout.
3. arrange the current drawing and save the configuration to the XLSX file.

Use the configuration saved in the XlSX file

1. Load the XLSX file with the saved configuration.
2. Edit the views and layout and use the settings to arrange the current drawing.
3. Save the changes to the XLSX file.

Load the layout from the current drawing

1. Load the layout from the current drawing using the "Read views" button (see option 3 in the "General" tab).
2. Edit the views and layout and use it to rearrange the current drawing.
3. Save the configuration to the XLSX file.

General tab

Use the "General" tab for selection of the XLSX file, setting of the views layout and arranging the drawings.

Read the views layout of the current drawing. The configuration loads to the table.

Edit views. The dialog window opens. Add or remove the view, and enter the name of the view.

Options:

  • View - select the view from the list of  added views (see the option 4)
  • Include in global - views included in global are influenced by the layout of the [GLOBAL] view.
  • Placement - select the primary placement of the view.
  • X - define the offset in axis X
  • Y - define the offset in axis Y
  • H-Alignment view - settings enabled when the placement is set to the Relative Horizontal option. Select the view to align to.
  • H-Alignment - settings enabled when the placement is set to the Relative Horizontal option. Select from the Top, Middle, or Bottom alignment option.
  • Gap - define the dimension for H alignment.
  • V-Alignment view - settings enabled when the placement is set to the Relative Vertical option. Select the view to align to.
  • H-Alignment - settings enabled when the placement is set to the Relative Vertical option. Select from the Top, Middle, or Bottom alignment option.
  • Gap - define the dimension for V alignment.

Arrange the current drawing according to the set configuration in the table.

 

  • [GLOBAL] view is created automatically when the content of a XLSX file is loaded. It allows to move all views included in Global (see option 5) at once.
