This extension allows to pick a point where beams are surrounded, based on the picked point the connecting beams are created between the surrounded beams.

Installing Infill beams

  1. Download the Infill beams installer package from Tekla Warehouse. For more information see Downloading an application from Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Install the file package.

Usage

  • Open a Tekla model, model surrounded beams
  • Click the Applications & components button  in the side pane to open the Applications & components catalog. 
  • Search for Infill beams and click on it.

  • Click on the collapsed contextual toolbar to expand.

  • Give the required inputs in the contextual toolbar.

  • 1. The green tick: toggle to make component option on/off. This enables user to create beams as a component (in this case user can change the inputs later) or just an application.
  • 2. The beam attribute file selection option: Here the beam attribute file can be selected and all inserted beam attributes by default load from this file. If none selected the default is 'standard'.
  • 3. The attribute override toggle: If this toggle is button is on the profile, material and class can be overridden.
  • 4. The profile, material and class texts providing in these text boxes can be overridden when the attribute overridden button is on.
  • 5,6,7 The distance list(DL)/number of beams(NB) toggle button, and text boxes: This helps to allow user to enter the distance list or number of beams. The value is accepted based on the DL/NB active stage.
  • After entering the required values, move the cursor towards a point where four beams are surrounded.
  • A preview will appear to aid the direction of beams going to be created. It is purely based on the point on toleration.
  • Once the required alignment is achieved, click the mouse left button.

  • The infill beams will get created.

  • If the infill beams are created with 'green tick', the user will be able to change the input later, by double clicking the inserted component, infill beams will  open up. Then change the inputs and modify.

  • Note:
  • Always work on 2D views for better accuracy.
  • Once value provided in the contextual toolbar, user may continuously pick the points as the inputs stays until interrupt or clicking again the tool from contextual toolbar.
