Corner point limitation for slabs, plates or surface treatment
Question:
In my model I have a complex geometry concrete slab and I am not able to add surface treatment to the face of this slab. Why is that?
Answer:
100 point limitation was changed in Tekla Structures 2017i version! The current limitation for parts is 1000 points and for cross-sections 999 points.
For Tekla Structures 2017 versions or older:
If you have created a complex slab, you should check that this slab doesn't have more than 100 corner points, because this is the logical limit hardcoded in Tekla Structures. For example, if you try to create a concrete slab or a contour plate with more than 100 corner points or handles, the software will not allow this operation, however, it is possible to exceed this limit by creating cuts in the slab.
So, for example, if you have created a concrete slab with 90 points or handles, and you have added three polygon cuts with four corners, you now have a concrete slab with 112 corner points. The slab will be displayed correctly, but you won’t be able to create surface treatment to the part face, because the limit is exceeded.
In this situation you should divide the slab or use polygonal surface treatment using To Selected Areas on Part Face.
