1.4 Numbering settings:
Synchronize with master model option (Save-numbering-save) kept as "On" in "Standard" attribute file - (Standard.num in "General > Model settings" folder)Apart from Standard, five more attribute settings are available in "General > Model settings" folder
1_Initial_Numbering.num: Apply this settings for the first time when you run numbering. This will freshly start numbering for All objects | Highlight: Renumber All option is ON.
2_Before_Creating_Drawings.num: Apply this settings after the first numbering or before drawing creation | Highlight: Renumber All option is OFF and Reuse Old Number option is ON.
3_After_Creating_Drawings.num: Apply this settings after drawings are created | Highlight: Keep Number if Possible option is selected for Modified objects.
4_After_Issuing_Drawings_for_Fab.num: Apply this settings after all or some drawings are issued for fabrication or production | Highlight: Reuse Old Number option is OFF.
Restart_Numbering.num: Apply this settings to revise all numbering from the beginning. Position numbers might not be same or retain the number after this action | Highlight: Renumber All option is ON and Reuse Old Number option is ON.
1.5 Options
File > Settings > Options
1.5.1 Units: We are maintaining Metric units for Modeling, Catalogs and Analysis results as shown in below images.
Catalogs:
Analysis results:
1.5.2 Rebarset
Precast Detailer and Rebar Detailer Role: Concrete cover values for global and local coordinate system is defined in Standard Attribute file as shown in below snap shot.
Rebar Detailer Role: Apart from the cover values the Layer Prefix are also defined in Standard Attribute file as shown in below snap shot. By default if you are not getting please press "Load" button as highlighted in below snap.
Rounding and Step tapering:
Rounding of straight bar is set to Up 5mm and bend bars are set to Down 5mm to avoid increase in length for fitting bars as most of the bend bars are fitting bars like stirrups, lacer bars, etc.
Step tapering is not defined in options. It could be defined for individual bar in Rebar properties window.
1.5.3 Clash Check
Clash check tolerance is kept as 0 to detect all clashes between rebar. Minimum clear cover is set to 25mm.
1.5.4 General
Default adaptivity is set to Fixed to retain normal detailing practice of copying rebar to another member.
1.6 Reinforcing bar Settings:
1.6.1 Rebar Shape RulesDefault Tekla Structures shape rules are followed for India Environment with Shape codes as shown in below snap shot.
However we can use Shape codes as per IS2502 Code provisions if we use the Model Template IS2502 Rebar Shapes.
Shape Rules when not using Model Template:
Shapes while using IS2502 Rebar Shapes Model Template
Curve tolerance
1. ‘Curve tolerance’ is available in ‘Tolerances’ tab page in ‘Rebar shape manager’.2. This value is used to recognize the ‘arc’ in a rebar having multiple sequential bending.
3. It is defined as 20mm for India environment, you can see the difference with below example.
Arc Radius
The Rebar shape manager has been changed so that multiple sequential bends which are forming an arc are combined into one or more bends (90 degree or less) with the arc radius. If you take the above example, the same bar is now changed to an arc. So arc radius is available directly for reporting as shown in below snap shot.
1.6.2 Rebar Database File
Note:
Tekla Structures stores Rebar Catalog information in Rebar_database.inp file. From version 2020, the Rebar catalog could be easily edited, import/ export using user friendly interface.
Please click this link to know more.
Below are the Rebar Grades available in India Environment (Main & Tie/Stirrup):
Nominal & Actual diameter of Rebar, Bending Radius, per meter Weight & Standard Hook values are defined for each Rebar in this file.
For Rebar Detailer Role, the Standard Lap length for Normal lap and Crank lap with standard Crank ratio for every Rebar Diameter is also defined in the Database file.
These values are used in Splitter in Rebarset.
When we use the model template IS2502 Rebar Shapes, it uses its dedicated Database file from model folder as per IS2502 code book.
Copy of the file is available as rebar_database_2502.inp in General > Profil Folder
Normal Lap:
Crank Lap:
1.6.3 Other Rebar Settings and Attributes files:
End detail modifier – Cranking
Attribute(s): Crank End.rst_edm
You can use this attribute settings to have crank at end detail modifier.
Face specific concrete covers:
Attribute(s): Concrete cover.srfoYou can provide concrete cover in surface properties for particular face using this option.
Property modifier standard file
Attribute(s): standard.rst_pm
Default Rebar set standard file creates Rebar of size 12 and class 3. So, the property modifier standard file is set to create Rebar of size 20 and class 2.
