Roles and access rights for Tekla Warehouse content

Access rights for Tekla Warehouse content depend on the organization membership of the user and the role of the user in the organization.

Users with these roles have different access rights for different kinds of content in Tekla Warehouse:

  • Individual user: The user does not belong to your organization, or does not belong to any organization.

  • Employee: The user belongs to your organization as an employee, but does not have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role.

  • Tekla Warehouse Content Editor (Employee): The user belongs to your organization as an employee, and has the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to them.

  • Tekla Warehouse Content Editor (External): The user is an external license user who has the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to them in your organization. The user does not belong to your organization, but has access to licenses in the organization.

This table compares the access rights for content that belongs to the organization and content that belongs to third parties, depending on the role of the user.

For external license users with the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role, the organization means the organization in which the users have the Tekla Warehouse Content Editor role assigned to them.

Access rights for personal content

Personal content is content that belongs to a user as an individual.

All users have full access to their own personal content. They can:

  • View and download their own personal content

  • Create, edit, and delete their own personal content

  • See analytics about their own personal content

Access rights for public content

Public content is content that is in a public collection.

All users can view and download public content.

Users cannot see analytics for public content that belongs to a third party, but they can see statistics for content items that belong to anyone.

Access rights for private content

Private content is content that is in a private collection. By default, only the user who owns the content, or users who belong to the organization that owns the content can access private content.

The content owner can give other users or organizations permission to view and download the content. For more information, see Share content privately in Tekla Warehouse.

Users can find private collections that have been shared with them under My Warehouse > My Collections > Shared with me or my organization.

Access rights for content that requires Tekla maintenance

Some content in Tekla Warehouse is only available for users who have a Tekla subscription or license that includes Tekla Maintenance.

The thumbnail for this content shows a yellow key icon to indicate that the content is restricted.

Users can download the content if they are signed in to Tekla Warehouse and have one of the following:

  • Tekla Structures subscription

  • Tekla Structures related online service access

  • Tekla Structures Maintenance license

Users who have a trial subscription or a Tekla Student subscription cannot download content that requires Tekla maintenance.
