Project summary reports

You can view the project summary report of project management jobs that are linked to one or more of the following modules: Production Control, Advance Bill, Estimating, and Purchasing.

By creating the project summary, you can do the following:
  • Compare the materials used in Production Control with the estimated materials and the prepurchased materials in Advance Bill
  • View the total values for purchased materials, materials moved from other jobs, and materials moved to scrap
  • View the current production status to see which materials:
    • are listed on a purchase order and have not yet been received
    • are in stock but have not been processed
    • have been charged to the job and taken from stock

The Full Project Summary report summarizes various aspects of the projects, broken into the following sections:

  • Shape Summary compares estimated vs actual material.
  • Purchase Order Summary lists every purchase order on the job and its status.
  • Inventory Transfer Summary displays the material movements between the job and others, including general stock.
  • TFS Details summarizes consumed material and what has been returned to stock.
  • Production/Shipping Status reports the fabrication progress and shipping status of each sequence.
  1. In the Project Management module, double-click a job to open it.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the Project Management dialog, click Project Summary.

    The Report Selection dialog opens.
  3. To view, print, or export the report, select it and click View, Print, or Export respectively.

For more details, see Reports in Tekla PowerFab.

The Full Project Summary report provides a snapshot of the current status of the project and the module components that are currently linked to each other.

    • Shape Summary: Compares estimated vs. actual material
      • Estimating, Advance Bill, Production Control columns: Show the quantity of pieces together with the total material weight for each shape used in the job. This information helps you to track materials by shape.
      • On Order: The materials are on a purchase order.
      • In Stock: The materials have been received.
      • Charge: The materials have been taken from stock, that is, they have been cut and are in the fabrication process.
    • Purchase Order Summary: Lists all the purchase orders associated with the project management job and their statuses
    • Inventory Transfer Summary: Shows materials transferred from a different job into the current project management job including general stock
    • TFS Details: Summarizes consumed material and material returned to stock
    • Production/Shipping Status: The fabrication progress and shipping status of each sequence. Shows the quantity of pieces that have been processed. The items are sorted by the route assigned in Production Control. The production and shipping status information is automatically updated when changes are made.

The project summary reports also have reports for all the breakdown areas, but these reports are not displayed by default. To customize the displayed reports, click Edit Report Types in the Report Selection dialog. See also Create user-defined reports for customizing.
