Filtering by assembly position number range

Question:
I need to select only assemblies from A-2 to A-5. How to create a filter for that? The following filter does not work:

Assembly | Position number | Greater or equal | A-2 | And
Assembly | Position number | Less or equal | A-5 |

Answer:
The type of the position number data is text and that is why greater/less than does not work. You need to use only numerical data type for greater/less filtering and filter the prefix separately:

Assembly | Prefix | Equals | A | And
Template | ASSEMBLY.SERIAL_NUMBER | Greater or equal | 2 | And
Template | ASSEMBLY.SERIAL_NUMBER | Less or equal | 5 |

This filter will only consider the immediate assembly of the part, not its super-assemblies.

You need to type the attribute ASSEMBLY.SERIAL_NUMBER in the property fields, it is not available by default and typing is possible only for the Template category.
