Note! This article handles Drawing List, which is replaced by the Document Manager in Tekla Structures 2018i version.
As projects grow, a drawing list with hundreds of drawings can be difficult to manage. Here is one way to manage your drawing list to minimize multi-user drawing save conflicts, and keep your drawing lists under control.
Open drawing list, and select the drawings to be assigned. Go to Right-click > User-Defined Attributes > Workflow tab. Here you can assign a set of drawings to specific users by entering their initials in the Drawing Assigned To field. Go through your entire drawing list and assign each drawing to a user, then save the model.

To check if all drawings have been assigned, scroll over to the right of the drawing list until you get to the Drawing Assigned To column. |
When the users get into the drawing list, they can enter their initials in the Enter search criteria field, and set to Search in Drawing Assigned To.

This will filter the drawing list so only the drawings assigned to the specified user will be shown.
Click the Store button to save the search criteria for future use.

Now users can filter the drawings assigned to them by using the dropdown menu.

Use this same technique with any other drawing attribute to create predefined drawing lists. |
