Review model properties (show/alter state)

The Show/Alter State group of commands on the Review ribbon allow you to graphically review and modify various model properties.

After selecting the required command, and if necessary an associated Attribute in the Properties window, entities are then color coded in accordance with a legend. The entity color updates to reflect changes as they are made.

For most of the commands you can reduce the number of entities considered by applying a filter In the Properties window.

Embodied Carbon

This command has two attributes available in the Properties window: one for reviewing carbon factors, and another for optimizing carbon usage.

Attribute	Description
Carbon factors	allows you to graphically review and override the carbon factors applied to the model
Utilization and embodied carbon	allows you to graphically focus in on high carbon usage and inefficiency.

Auto/Check Design

This command has two attributes available in the Properties window: one for reviewing autodesign settings factors, and another for modify the stud auto layout setting of composite beams.

Attribute	Description
Autodesign	review or modify autodesign settings
Stud auto layout	modify the stud auto layout setting of composite beams

Diaphragm On/Off

This command allows you to select the slab items, roof panels, and nodes to be included/excluded from diaphragms.

Fixed/Pinned

This command has three attributes available in the Properties window: one for marking beam and column ends as cantilevers, one for reviewing/modifying member end fixity, and another for reviewing/modifying rotational stiffness settings of beam ends.

Attribute	Description
Cantilever end	mark beam and column ends as cantilevers
Fixed/Pinned	review and modify member end fixity
Rotational stiffness	review and modify rotational stiffness settings of beam ends

BIM Status

This command allows you to modify BIM status, or exclude members/panels from BIM import/export.

Slab/Foundation Reinforcement

This command allows you to graphically review and edit or rationalize panel, patch or foundation reinforcement.

Section/Material Grade

This command has two attributes available in the Properties window.

Attribute	Description
Material Grade	review and copy the material grade between members
Section	review and copy section sizes between members

Copy Properties

This command has multiple attributes available in the Properties window for copying various properties between entities.

Attribute	Description
Copy Properties	copy all properties between members
Deflection Limits	review and copy specified deflection limits between steel beams
Material Grade	review and copy the material grade between members
Quick Connector Layout	copy the connector layout from one beam to others
Section	review and copy section sizes between members
Shear Connectors	copy shear connector properties between composite beams
Transverse reinforcement	modify the transverse reinforcement of composite beams
UDA	review and modify user defined attributes applied to members
Web Openings	copy web opening properties between members
Westok Openings	copy Westok opening properties between members

Tip: You can use Ctrl + A as a shortcut to quickly scroll the Attribute list.

Report Filter

This command allows you to graphically review and modify report filters.

Concrete Beam Flanges

This command allows you to graphically set whether flanges are to be considered.

This command allows you to graphically review and modify splice positions within steel columns.

Property Sets

This command has two attributes available in the Properties window: one for reviewing where property sets have been applied, and another for applying property sets to existing entities.

Review/Update	Description
Review All	to review where property sets have been applied
Apply Property Set...	to apply property sets to existing entities

UDA

This command allows you to graphically review and modify user defined attributes applied to entities.

Show/Alter State

This command has multiple attributes available in the Properties window for various model reviewing and editing purposes.

Attribute	Description
Active	set single span members to be active/inactive
Any Property	by selecting an entity, any property in the Properties window can be reviewed for all similar entity types in the model
Assume cracked	set concrete members as either cracked or uncracked
Autodesign	review or modify autodesign settings
BIM Status	modify BIM status, or exclude members/panels from BIM import/export
Braced/Bracing	modify slenderness settings in each direction for concrete columns and walls
Camber	review and apply camber
Cantilever end	mark beam and column ends as cantilevers
Copy Properties	copy all properties between members
Deflection Limits	review and copy specified deflection limits between steel beams
Diaphragm	select the slab items, roof panels, and nodes to be included in diaphragms
Drift check	review check status, or specify members to be checked
Effective Lengths and Factors	review effective lengths, and set or copy effective length factors for steel beams and columns, concrete columns, and walls.
Fire proofing	review and apply fire proofing
Fixed/Pinned	review and modify member end fixity
Gravity only	review and modify the gravity only setting of beams and columns
Imposed load reduction	review and set imposed load reductions
Live load reduction	review and set live load reductions (US regional code)
Material Grade	review and copy the material grade between members
Override Effective Width	set the composite beams to which an effective width override applies
Punch check position	modify assumed punching shear check positions
Quick Connector Layout	copy the connector layout from one beam to others
Restraints	review and modify lateral restraint settings of steel beams, columns, trusses and portal frames
Rotational stiffness	review and modify rotational stiffness settings of beam ends
Section	review and copy section sizes between members
Seismic drift	review check status, or specify members to be checked
Seismic force resisting system	review or modify SFRS type and direction
Shear Connectors	copy shear connector properties between composite beams
SidePlates	review the status and locations where SidePlate connections have been applied to steel beams
Size Constraints	review and copy specified size constraints for steel beams, columns, and braces
Staged Construction	review construction stages in order to define the content and duration of each stage
Stud auto layout	modify the stud auto layout setting of composite beams
Sway check	review check status, or specify members to be checked
Transverse reinforcement	modify the transverse reinforcement of composite beams
UDA	review and modify user defined attributes applied to members
User Defined U/R	review and modify user defined utilization ratios
Web Openings	copy web opening properties between members
Westok Openings	copy Westok opening properties between members
Wind drift	review check status, specify members to be checked and set the limit
Wind Loading	set the members/ancillaries/equipment to which open structure wind loading applies
