New and enhanced library calculations (Eurocode Design)

The following engineering library calculations has been added or enhanced in Tedds 2026. (Note that some features documented below were included in previous updates to Tedds 2025.)

Wind assessment (EN1991)

New calculation rapidly determines the peak velocity wind pressure for multiple sectors around a building at any number of user defined heights. Values are calculated for a specific building site location, considering the appropriate location and direction dependent wind parameters.

  • For UK and Irish locations, the calculation makes use of wind speed and ground roughness databases derived from copyright data and distributed under license by BRE Ltd. Other information is taken from altitude databases derived from NASA Shuttle Radar Terrain Mission data.

  • The calculation generates the peak velocity pressure and all other relevant wind variables for 12 segments (8 using the Norwegian national annex) or 4 quadrants around the building at any number of user defined reference heights.

  • Calculation is in accordance with EN1991 and the national annex for the UK, Ireland, Singapore, Finland, Sweden, Norway or the recommended Eurocode values.

2D analysis, Beam analysis, Steel 2D analysis & design (EN1993), Timber 2D analysis & design (EN1995)

Enhanced to bring greater accessibility to member local deflections. It is now easy to view local member deflections in sketches and tables and include results in the output. Member deflection design can now be carried out for either global or local deflections depending on selection, where applicable.

The Design Member Configuration dialog is improved to provide more guidance and provide better default support definitions for common conditions.
