Notifications pane

A new Notifications side pane window has been added which allows Trimble to broadcast information directly to all users within the Tedds application.

It can be opened by clicking the Notifications icon, located at the top right of the interface.

When a notification arrives you are alerted by a '1' being displayed on the Notifications icon. If you have more than one unread notification the number increases accordingly. Different colors are used to denote notification importance. (Red = critical, orange = important, blue = informational.)

For example:

- There are 3 unread notifications, of which at least 1 is critical
- There is 1 unread important notification
- There is 1 unread informational notification

To read a notification click the Notifications icon to open the Notifications pane. All unread notifications will be listed at the top of the pane.

After reading a notification you can acknowledge it by clicking the 'Mark as read' icon.

This shifts the notification to the list in the lower part of the pane.

To bring a notification back to the top, click the 'Pin' icon.

To remove notifications from the list, click the 'Archive' icon.

If you have a lot of notifications, you can use the search bar to list only those notifications that contain specific text in the notification title.

You can also apply a filter to list only those notifications of a given importance level.

If required, previously archived notifications can be retrieved, firstly by checking the 'Show archived' box, then by selecting 'Unarchive'.

Instructor pane

Learning Tekla Tedds is now easy and smooth with the new Instructor side pane window!

The new Instructor side pane window shows instructions for the currently active ribbon command. The Instructor side pane window gives you:

a short description of the command
steps on how to use the command
short example animations on how to use the command
links to more comprehensive videos and instructions in Tekla User Assistance

The Instructor is available for all commands on the Ribbon.

Other updates

Various other improvements have been made to the Tedds Application including:

When closing multiple documents, you now have two additional buttons: 'Yes to all' and 'No to all,' which make saving or discarding those documents much quicker. When saving multiple documents, after saving the first one, you are now asked whether to save all other documents to the same folder, making that operation much simpler.
The project manager has been enhanced so that the corresponding document view is automatically shown when an open document is selected in the project tree view.
If a document window is maximised the Connectivity indicator does not now obscure the document min/max/close buttons on the ribbon.
When you generate the default document name from the selected calculation name, characters that cannot be included in a file name are replaced with an appropriate alternative.
When showing names on a most recently used menu ampersand characters are now displayed correctly.
The tooltips for the most recently used calculation, document and project menus have been improved with better descriptions.
A fix has been made for rotated pictures that do not exporting to PDF correctly, the rotation and the scaling of the output image were not always as expected.

General

The following general improvements have been made:

You can now calculate more complex expressions, nested expression resolution has increased from 16 levels deep to 32 levels deep.
Zoom Page Width and Zoom Whole Page commands have been added to the Calc Item Preview window context menu used in calculation user interfaces and when browsing the Tedds Engineering Library in the Tedds application or the Library Access System.
An issue where a user interface could become corrupt if you changed the interface template to a custom layout that did not contain any layout entries has been fixed.
An issue causing the product release notes to be shown on both the first and second launch of the version rather than just the first has been fixed.
The GetDocumentVar function has been corrected so that if a default value is provided, then that value is returned rather than an undefined variable error. The function now also gives the correct error code / message when a default value is not provided and the variable is not defined.

Drawing functions

All drawing functions which include X, Y, Width and Height parameters have been updated to support negative width and height parameters. (DrawArc, DrawArcIf, DrawRectangle, DrawRectangleIf, DrawEllipse, DrawEllipseIf, DrawFillRectangle, DrawFillRectangleIf, DrawFillEllipse, DrawFillEllipseIf, DrawGrid, DrawGridIf, DrawClipRectangle).

API

An error "Could not load file or assembly System.Memory Version=4.0.1.1" which occurred when using the Tedds calculator API has been fixed.
