Modify content items in Tekla Warehouse

In Tekla Warehouse, you can change the basic information of existing content items, and add thumbnails, details, and search criteria. You can delete private content items and archive and unarchive public content items.

You can also use the different tabs of the content item page to add related content links or user comments, and modify the content item type and category, support information, or release notes.

Note:

If your content item does not yet have a code name, you will be prompted to enter it when modifying the content item. Without adding the code name, you cannot save your changes to the content item. For more information, see Upload content to Tekla Warehouse.

Tip:

If you do not want subscribers to be notified about the changes that you made, select Minor update, don't notify subscribers when you modify the content item.

Change the name, description, or other information of a content item

  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Add, modify, or delete information.
  5. Click Save.

Add details for a content item

  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the Detailed description section, enter the details.

    Use the buttons at the top of the box to format the text and to add lines, links, videos, and tables.

  5. To embed a video, click Insert video and do one of the following:
    • On the URL tab, paste the URL of the video in the box and click Insert.

      The allowed domains are:

      • https://player.vimeo.com

      • https://vimeo.com

      • https://www.youtube.com

      • https://youtu.be

    • On the embedded code tab, paste the video embed code in the box and click Insert.

      For example:

       <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MtLUtepSDGs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

      The allowed domains are:

      • https://alugha.com/embed/web-player

      • https://player.vimeo.com/video

      • https://www.youtube.com/embed

      • https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed

      The allowed iframe attributes are:

      "allowfullscreen", "title", "href", "width", "height", "frameborder", "alt", "src", "style" 
  6. Click Save.

Add or modify search criteria for a content item

  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Go to Properties.
  5. Select options for the following:
    • Item types
    • Categories
    • Product availability
    • Languages
    • Measurement units
  6. Click Save.

Move a content item to another collection

  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Move.
  4. Select the collection where you want to move the content item.
    Note: You cannot move a public content item to a private collection.
  5. Click Move.

Delete a private content item

When you delete a private content item, all versions in the content item are deleted. You cannot delete content items that are public.
  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Click Delete to confirm the deletion.

Archive a public content item

When you archive a public content item, all versions in the content item are archived. After archiving, only Tekla Warehouse Content Editors can access the content in Tekla Warehouse. However, if the content is already in use, it will still be available in the Project Settings Management Console.
  1. Go to the content item page.
  2. Click .
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Archive.
  5. Click Archive to confirm the archiving.

Unarchive a content item

If you have archived a public content item, you can unarchive it. After unarchiving, Tekla Warehouse users can access the content again. Note that the versions in the content item are not automatically unarchived.
  1. Go to My Warehouse > My collections.
  2. Go to the collection where the archived content item is located.
  3. To view the archived content items, select the Show archived checkbox.
  4. Open the content item you want to unarchive.
  5. Click .
  6. Click Unarchive.
  7. Click Unarchive to confirm.

Modify metadata for multiple content items

You can modify content metadata for multiple content items in different collections at the same time. For example, you can change the properties, support information, or compatible Tekla Structures versions.

  1. Sign in to Tekla Warehouse.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To modify all or selected content items in a collection, go to the collection page.
    • To modify all or selected content items in all collections of your company account, go to the account's page.
  3. Click .
  4. Click Batch edit.

    The Batch edit dialog is shown.

  5. In the Content to change area, define the content items for which to modify the metadata.
    1. In the Show collection list, select the collection that contains the content items that you want to modify.

      If necessary, you can also filter the content items in the selected collection by software version.

    2. Do one of the following:
      • Click next to an item to show content in a tree structure. Then select the checkbox next to each collection or content item that you want to modify.
      • Select Select all.
  6. In the Metadata to change area, define which metadata to modify and how.
    1. Select checkboxes next to the metadata that you want to modify.
    2. For each type of metadata, select whether you want to add, remove, or replace metadata, then select or enter the metadata.

      To include a link to a website or an email address in metadata, below the Support heading, select Support URL or email address and enter a complete URL or an email address.

  7. Click Save.
