Install Tekla on-premises license server using automatic installation

Use automatic installation for a standard setup using the default options. Automatic installation is recommended.

Before installing the Tekla on-premises license server:

  • Turn off the internal firewall and pause the antivirus protection.
  • Ensure that you have access to the internet. An internet connection is needed during the license activation process. An unreliable connection speed can cause errors.
  • If you are using other FlexNet licensing services, stop them before you install the Tekla license server. When you have completed the Tekla license server installation, you can start the other licensing services again.

The Tekla on-premises license server installation package contains license server files, applications for license management and guides.

In automatic license server installation, the license server host name is automatically set to 27007@your_host_name, where 27007 is the port and your_host_name is your computer name.

  1. Download the latest Tekla on-premises license server installation package.
    1. Go to Tekla Downloads.
    2. Select the version of Tekla Structures that you use, then click All downloads.
    3. Scroll down to the On-premises license tool section.
    4. Download the Tekla License Administration Tool.
  2. Double-click the installation file to run the installation.
  3. Follow the steps in the installation wizard to complete the installation.
    For standard setup, select Automatic and complete the installation.

Tekla license server is installed.

Next, save your on-premises license entitlement certificate.
