This advanced option must be set in an initialization (.ini) file.

Use this advanced option to control which license Tekla Structures uses, online subscription or on-premises server, and predefine the address of the license server.

As an administrator, you can predefine the address so that the user does not need to enter the server details in the Tekla Structures - License dialog when starting Tekla Structures for the first time.

You can use this advanced option in startup shortcuts to start teklastructures.exe with your defined initialization settings.

• For Tekla Structures online subscriptions: set the value to https. This directs Tekla Structures to use the online license server.

  For example, set XS_LICENSE_SERVER_HOST=https

  Add this advanced option in a customized .ini file.

• For Tekla Structures on-premises licensing, set the advanced option to point to the location of the license server. Use one of the following formats: port@host or port@ip-address

  For example, set XS_LICENSE_SERVER_HOST=27007@MY_LICENSE_SERVER_NAME

  • If you are using the classic startup: add this advanced option in the teklastructures.ini file to enable the on-premises license server.
  • If you are using Tekla Launcher: add this advanced option in the user.ini file to enable the on-premises license server.
