Importing AutoCAD and MicroStation files with no import method defined in Template Editor

Before you start, ensure that you have defined the import preferences for the size of AutoCAD and MicroStation files in the General preferences dialog. If you do not want Template Editor to ask for the size when the file is being imported leave Always ask for import method unchecked.

To import a file:

  1. Click Insert > File.
  2. Select the file you want to import and click OK.
  3. Click in a template component and define the insertion point, then click again to define the opposite corner point of the image.

The image is inserted in the template. You can ungroup it if you need to modify parts of the image.
