Tekla Structures 2025 SP5

The latest Tekla Structures service pack and updated environment installers are available in Trimble Downloads.

Tekla Structures 2025 SP5.1

Tekla Structures 2025 SP5.1 was released to fix the following issues:

  • Previously, when creating a production export to Tekla PowerFab with Selected from Drawing list, the resulting XML file did not contain AssemblyPart data. This issue has now been fixed.

    TTSD-73322

  • Previously, when using the option Selected from Drawing list when exporting Fabrication from the Export to Tekla PowerFab, the CNC files were not included. This issue has now been fixed.

    TTSD-73228

  • A problem has been fixed to prevent the rebar sets that are created by a component from changing the GUID when the component parameters are modified.

    TTSD-73086

  • Previously, TSEP packages with multiple macros caused the tracking of advanced options in the TSEP core to stop working. Now, TSEP packages can have multiple advanced options.

    TTSD-73120

Service Pack 5.1 is an additional update available alongside Tekla Structures 2025 SP5. Users needing these fixes should download SP5.1. Both service packs can be downloaded.

Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane

The Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane lets you use the Trimble Assistant for Tekla in the Tekla Structures application.

In Tekla Structures 2025 SP5 and later, the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane is installed by default when you install Tekla Structures.

An option in the Tekla Structures installer controls whether the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane is installed. If you do not install the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane when you install Tekla Structures, you can run the installer again to install it later.

If you use centralized installation of Tekla Structures, use this parameter to exclude the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane: INSTALLASSISTANT=False . For detailed information about centralized installation, see Centralized distribution of Tekla Structures 2025.

Example:

TeklaStructures2025.exe /s /v"/qn /lvoicewarmupx TS2025_logfile.log INSTALLASSISTANT=False"

In Tekla Structures 2025 SP4 and earlier, you can install the Trimble Assistant for Tekla extension from Tekla Warehouse to use the side pane.

If you previously installed the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane and no longer want to use it, you can use the XS_DISABLE_TEKLA_ASSISTANT advanced option to disable the side pane.

For more information about the Trimble Assistant for Tekla side pane, see Interactive help for Tekla Structures in Trimble Assistant for Tekla.

New in AI Cloud Fabrication drawings (Preview)

Improvements in collections

  • Now the Created by field in Collection details indicates the email address of the collection author only when the author belongs to the same organization as the viewer, otherwise the field is empty. Previously, the email address was always visible to everyone with access to the collection, including invited users external to the organization.

    TTSD-72404

  • Now the Drawing library properties dialog opens in the location where it was last closed, in the same window state. You can have multiple dialog instances open simultaneously, and the location that is saved is the location of the most recently closed instance. Previously, the dialog always opened in the default location.

    TTSD-71564

Other improvements and fixes

  • Drawings that have been cloned now remember the settings file of the drawing used as the cloning source. Now drawings cloned using settings files that have been uploaded to a collection will no longer display <empty> in the Settings file column in the drawing list.

    TTSD-72313

  • Recreating a drawing that was created using the AI Cloud Fabrication drawings feature now clears the cloning source data from Document manager.

    TTSD-72120

Tekla Connector fixes

  • In the Submittal history for Tekla PowerFab export, Checked date now shows converted to the local time of the current user.

    TTSD-71600

  • Previously, due to the use of numeric values for abbreviations by fabricators, some valid profiles were incorrectly showing as invalid in Tekla Structures. This issue has now been fixed.

    TTSD-71687

  • Previously, exporting an assembly drawing from the Document manager to Tekla PowerFab would cause a crash when "Select from drawing list" was chosen as the export option. This issue has now been fixed.

    TTSD-72518

Important custom component fixes

  • Previously, it was not possible to create a custom seam component with points picked in the main part's x-direction without any secondary parts. This has now been fixed.

    TTSD-62177

  • Previously, certain custom components with an array of objects did not work correctly. Specifically, inserting or modifying such a component increased the number of objects in the array, causing the operation to become slower and slower. Additionally, the Get or Modify operations in the dialog did not work. This has now been fixed.

Fixes

Defect number Development area Description
TSAC-9406 Concrete components

Auto splitter: An issue has been fixed in finding locations for splitters on rebar set bars whose geometry contains arcs.
Note that due to the splitter offset affecting the bar length in curved situations, there can be small inaccuracies, typically a couple of millimeters, in curved bar lengths. Often, these inaccuracies can be managed with rounding settings.

TSAC-9084 Steel components

Squeezed tube (103): Previously, when distance a was specified as 0.0, the squeezed plate was created incorrectly. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9534 Steel components

Stairs (S71): Previously, some bolts were created with an incorrect setting for the main part. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9535 Steel components

Stairs (S71): Previously, when you selected Catalogue step as the step type, the steps were not created correctly. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9555 Steel components

Cranked beam (41): Previously, a different selection order of the main and secondary parts caused the component to behave differently. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9574 Steel components

Welded and stiffened shear plate (43): Previously, the stiffener plate was incorrectly placed when the connection was not perpendicular. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9581 Steel components

Corner tube gusset (56): Previously, the length increase of brace bolts was not applied to the bolts. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9598 Steel components

Stiffened end plate (1014): Previously, when grouting was created with the option Above without slope, the stiffeners were created in an incorrect vertical position. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9603 Steel components

Corner bolted gusset (57): Previously, stiffeners were created in an incorrect position. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9009 Import, export, interoperability

Layout manager: You can now drag selected layout objects to a new location within a group or to another group in Layout manager. You can also change the order of groups by dragging them in the Layout manager tree structure.

TSAC-9154 Import, export, interoperability

Layout manager: You can now select multiple layout objects and groups in the Layout manager tree structure by holding down the Ctrl or Shift key.

TSAC-9365 Import, export, interoperability

Layout manager: The Auto highlight and Stay on top settings are now saved and restored from the saved settings when opening Layout manager.

TTSD-55820 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: Previously, when the IFC entity of a column part was set to IfcMechanicalFastener, the column part was still exported as IfcColumn in the IFC2x3 export. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-62820, TTSD-69271 Import, export, interoperability

Import from Tekla Structural Designer: The following updates have been made for new objects in IFC export:

  • The property set handling now looks for the proIfcEntityOvrd property in either the usual property set file or the additional property set file, such as pile.ccl or pile.ccl.more.
  • If the proIfcEntityOvrd property is not found, there is a hard-coded mapping between the Tekla Structural Designer object type and the IFC entity type, such as IfcBeam, IfcColumn, IfcWall, IfcSlab, IfcFooting, IfcPile, or IfcMember.
TTSD-62993 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Previously, sub-assemblies were not exported to the correct coordinates when using IFC4 export. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-71169 Import, export, interoperability

Import from Tekla Structural Designer: An issue in previewing the profile conversion was fixed for cold-formed hollow sections and other sections when the standard mapping failed and a backup parametric profile was created.

TTSD-71440 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Previously, in some models, the rebar set geometry was exported incorrectly, so that a straight leg was exported curved. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-71452 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: Multiple bolt washers are now exported correctly.

TTSD-71755, TTSD-28504 Import, export, interoperability

Improved STAAD import: Importing STAAD data through FEM import is now more reliable and it now supports toe-to-toe channels which were not imported correctly earlier.

TPLED-387 Templates and reports

Template Editor: In vertical, even table output, where the cell count matched column count and different cells had a slight difference in height, the cells were unevenly distributed to columns. This issue has now been fixed.

TPLED-388 Templates and reports

Templates: When a template is rotated and a multiline value field has right or middle justification, the location of text is incorrect. This issue has now been fixed.

TPLED-390 Templates and reports

Template Editor: The PAGE attribute did not work correctly when CopyField was used in the same formula. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-68186 Templates and reports

Template Editor: Earlier, a text element in a template might not follow the CAP height setting, if there was a picture element in the template before it. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72680 Templates and reports

Template Editor: Subtracting a number from a CopyField value did not work. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9160 Drawings

Rebar pull-out picture and marking: The attributes LENGTH_MAX and LENGTH_MIN gave incorrect values in marks when cm was used as the unit. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9187 Drawings

Rebar group marking: Arrow symbols are now created respecting the dimension line direction. Earlier, the symbols were static and did not follow the dimension line direction.

TSAC-9585 Drawings

Rebar group marking: The values from template attributes added in rebar marks are now read properly.

TTSD-65481 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: The maximum number of dimensioning rules that can be added to the Dimensioning rules list was previously about 80. Now it has been increased to about 160. The number is not exact because it also depends on the length of the rule file names: with shorter names, the number is larger, and vice versa.

TTSD-69910 Drawings

Drawing layouts: Earlier, drawing layouts did not collapse horizontally when an anchored table was not output. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-70818 Drawings

Previously, if single-part or assembly drawings were having additional tables in the layout, and you created multi-drawings from such drawings, these tables were lost. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-71214 Drawings

Detailed object level settings: View-level detailed object level settings did not work correctly if the drawing-level detailed object level settings were turned off. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-71337 Drawings

Create fabrication drawings (local): In the Creation review dialog, checkboxes in the Create column for controlling whether a drawing will be created now behave more logically. Earlier, when you selected a checkbox, another checkbox on another row was sometimes selected automatically.

TTSD-71352 Drawings

Some rebar sets containing many small legs forming an arc were displayed correctly in the model, but incorrectly in the drawing mode: the small legs were eliminated and replaced with one straight leg. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-71533 Drawings

DWG/DXF files: The All files option is now available in the DWG/DXF drawing property pane in the file browser when you are adding a link to a DWG/DXF file in a drawing.

TTSD-71637 Drawings

Some rare application errors in solid operations have been fixed. One known situation was an application error when resizing the drawing view boundary.

TTSD-71838 Drawings

Free text UDAs in rebar marks: Previously, when one end of the rebar's free text UDA was empty and the other end had value, the same attribute value was shown for both ends in the rebar mark. This problem only occurred in rebars that had reversed shape, for example, in L-shaped bars. Now, the attribute value for the free text UDA is swapped correctly for reversed rebar shapes. For example, when the free text 2 (start) UDA is empty, and free text 2 (end) UDA has value, the rebar mark will show the value of free text 2 (end) for free text 2 (start) attribute and empty value for free text 2 (end) attribute, when the bar is reversed.

TTSD-71898 Drawings

The NUMBER_IN_DRAWING attribute in drawings now works more reliably when there are more than one view containing rebars.

TTSD-72525 Drawings

Executing commands in drawings is now slightly faster. Also, editing filtering settings in the view properties dialog now works better.

TTSD-72617 Drawings

DWGs in drawings: Arcs in mirrored DWGs are now drawn more correctly.

TTSD-72657 Drawings

Mark templates: Rectangle objects in mark templates did not rotate when the template was rotated. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-70980 Tekla Model Sharing

Tekla Model Sharing: Previously, in some rare cases, Tekla Structures might have stopped working unexpectedly during read-in. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-70719 Modeling

Previously, Tekla Structures could occasionally stop working when the property pane was opened. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-70785 Modeling

Building hierarchy: When you change the elevation of a building storey that has objects assigned to it, Tekla Structures displays a dialog where you select to move the building storey or the building storey and the objects. Previously, there was no option to cancel this action. Now there is a Cancel button in the dialog and you can cancel the action.

TTSD-71037 Modeling

Previously, Trimble Connect Visualizer did not display user-defined materials. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-71653 Modeling

Previously, when the Batch editor tool was used on components that create an assembly or a cast unit (for example, Wall layout), different modeling directions of the source and target components caused errors in the result. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-71981 Modeling

Live Collaboration: Now, in Live Collaboration sessions, the presenter's mouse position from Tekla Structures is shown to other collaborators by displaying a marker. This adds more visual guidance for those who are following a presentation.

TTSD-72557 Modeling

Bolts: Previously, when creating studs after creating bolt holes, studs were created invisible in models, but they appeared in drawings, causing confusion. This issue has now been fixed, and studs are visible when created right after bolt holes.

SOLD-2755 Licensing

When a user had more than one session of the same Tekla Structures version with the same subscription license open at the same time on the same device, the license was not released from all the sessions when the user tried to release it. Now the license is released correctly from all sessions.

SOLD-755 Licensing

Previously, when you started Tekla Structures using an on-premises license, the server selection dialog stopped responding if you cleared the server host name and clicked OK. Now, Tekla Structures keeps the server selection dialog open and waits for you to enter a server host name, click Cancel, or click X to close the dialog.

TTSD-69445 Licensing

The error message that is shown when the model has already been saved or autosaved after losing the connection to the license server is now more informative. The message now informs the user that the model has already been saved or autosaved, and there are no unsaved changes.

TTSD-71831 Licensing

Previously, a "No license available" error message was shown incorrectly when licenses were actually available for use. The issue occurred for all licenses. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72660 Licensing

Previously, Diamond Named User licenses were not released correctly when closing Tekla Structures. This issue has now been fixed in the licensing service. The fix is immediately available to all users. It is not necessary to install a Tekla Structures service pack to get this fix.

TSAC-9357 Tools and components

Previously, the View plane - dimension X, View plane - dimension Y, and View plane - orthogonal dimension macros did not work and an error message was displayed when trying to start the macro. This issue has now been fixed. The fix only concerns the environments where the macros are used.

TSAC-9544 Tools and components

Custom components: The Object Properties dialog now opens centered on Custom component dialog editor. Previously, the Object Properties dialog opened on the main display, regardless of the Custom component dialog editor location.

TSAC-9545 Tools and components

Custom Component Dialog Editor: The Object Properties dialog now displays Multiple objects for Object style when multiple objects are selected. Previously, Object style displayed nothing for multiple object selections.

TTSD-70701 Tools and components

Previously, importing certain older .uel files to Tekla Structures in multi-user mode could cause Tekla Structures to stop working unexpectedly. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-72038 Tools and components

Previously, Tekla Structures stopped working if you used "Save as" to save a macro with the same name as a macro that no longer exists, or tried to rename a macro that no longer exists. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72053 Tools and components

Sharing automation tool now starts properly again.

TTSD-65560 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when exporting a plate with XS_DSTV_WRITE_BEHIND_FACE_FOR_PLATE set to TRUE, the internal contours from slotted holes were not added to the back plane. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72025 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when you exported a plate with weld preparation and all countersunks only on the back plane of the plate, weld preparations were exported incorrectly causing an incorrect AK block in the NC file. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9524 Import, export, interoperability (concrete)

BVBS export: Sometimes, the bent mesh length and width were reported incorrectly in the export. This issue has now been fixed.
