HQ End plate (97)

HQ End plate (97) connects an HQ beam to a column with a welded end plate connection. The column shape can be either round or rectangular. The connection creates a seat profile, a nail plate, and an end plate.

Selection order

  1. Select the main part (column).

  2. Select the secondary part (beam).

    The connection is created automatically when the secondary part is selected.

Beam end cut

Horizontal Vertical Description

Square

Cuts the end of the secondary beam square.

Bevel

Cuts the end of the secondary beam parallel to the edge of the main part.

Use the Seat tab to define the seat profile properties.

Select the profile from the profile catalog.

The default seat is a plate for rectangular columns and an RHS profile for round columns.

Plugs

Thickness and width of the plug plate.

Seat creation

Opton Description

Seat

Select the shape:

  • Folded plate creates the seat from a folded plate. By default, this option creates plug plates at the top and bottom of the folded plate. Plugs can only be used with this type of seat.

  • Profile creates the seat from a profile plate.

  • Plate creates a plate seat.

Direction

Select the seat direction:

  • Horizontal creates the seat in the horizontal direction. This is the default value.

  • Vertical creates the seat in the vertical direction.

Seat profile dimensions

Option Description

Define the seat profile height.

Define the seat profile width.

  1. Define the radius of the curvature.

  2. Define the seat profile thickness.

Plug plate creation

Plug plates can only be used when the seat is created from a folded plate.

Option Description

Creates plug plates both at the top and bottom of the seat. This is the default option.

Creates a plug plate at the top of the seat.

Creates a plug plate at the bottom of the seat.

Plug plates are not created.

Nail plate tab

Use the Nail plate tab to define the nail plate properties and dimensions. The nail plate is welded to the seat, and its size depends on the seat dimensions.

End plate tab

Use the End plate tab to define the end plate properties and dimensions.The end plate is created orthogonal to a column section and it is welded to the HQ beam.
