Improvements in components
There are many improvements in concrete components and steel components in Tekla Structures 2024.
The following Tekla Structures 2023 service packs also introduced improvements in components, see:
Concrete components
Component | Description |
---|---|
Floor layout |
|
Hollowcore lifting loops |
You can now specify the name and material for recess cuts on the new Cut settings tab. |
Sandwich wall window |
|
Wall layout elementation |
There are now two new options for creating seams:
|
Braced girder (88), (89) |
On the Geometry tab, you can now use the new Cut setting to select whether the entire braced girder is cut at openings, or only the parts that collide with openings. |
Border rebar for single edge (93) |
On the Configuration tab, there is a new setting, Cast unit geometry. You can set it to Yes to specify that reinforcement is created using the geometry of all parts inside the cast unit, instead of the selected part only. |
Rebar coupler and anchor tools |
Before you create
rebar couplers and end anchors for reinforcing bars, you can now
use the new advanced
option |
Steel components
Component | Description |
---|---|
Cold rolled overlap (1) |
You can now specify on the Stays tab that only stay bolts are created without creating stay profiles or plates. |
Welded gusset (10), Bolted gusset (11) |
You can now specify the vertical dimension from the gusset plate edge to the flange of the main part on the Gusset tab. Previously, you could only define the horizontal dimension. |
Bracing cross (19) |
You can now specify the bolt Cut length on the Bolts tab. |
Tube gusset (20) |
You can now define ventilation holes in end plates on the Brace conn tab. |
Pipe column and beam panel zone (21) |
You can now specify the Finish part property for all parts on the Panel parts tab. |
Bolted cap plate (27) |
The welds dialog box for Bolted cap plate (27) now has an image of weld placement. |
Seating cap (37), Seating (39) |
On the Picture tab, you can now define the end plate width from the main part edges. On the Parts tab, you can define the round end plate dimensions. |
Stiffened end plate (27), Partial stiffened end plate (65) |
|
Haunch (40) |
You can now specify on the Extra plates tab that one bolt plate is created for each row of bolts in the bolt group. |
Corner tube gusset (56) |
You can now define the size of square end plates, and the chamfer type and dimensions on the Brace conn tab. |
Splice type 1 (56) |
You can now define the assembly prefix and start number for the web plate on the Parts tab. |
Vertical bracing (S56) |
The way you pick the input points when creating the component has been changed. Previously, you had to pick points that had been created as model objects. Now you can pick the brace end positions using any model points. |
Wraparound gusset (58), Wraparound gusset cross (60) , Gusseted cross (62) |
You can now set the gusset plate as the main part for the bolts that connect the gusset plate to the main part or the last secondary part by setting the bolt type to Workshop. |
Wraparound gusset (58), Wrapped cross (61), Gusseted cross (62), Corner gusset (63) |
On the Brace conn tab, you can now specify that a weld is created between the filler plate and the secondary part. You can use this setting when the connection type is bolts. |
Cage ladder (S60) |
On the Parameters tab, you can now define chamfers to the top of the rail bars. |
Stairs (S71), Wooden steps pan (S72), Polybeam pan (S73), Z pan (S74) |
Welds number 2 and 3 are now controlled by the Create assembly option on the Stair setup tab. |
Stairs S71 |
You can now specify a different custom component for the first step, last step, and middle steps on the Steps tab. |
Z pan (S74) |
You can now specify the creation of horizontal and vertical brackets for the top and bottom step on the Horizontal bracket and Vertical bracket tabs. |
Splice connection (77) |
You can now use the new By images option to create a Splice plate assembly based on the image options on the Parameters tab. |
Stanchion side plate (83) |
You can now define the Cut length on the Bolts tab. |
Eaves haunch (102) |
You can now specify the horizontal position of the plate and bolts on the Vertic/Rafter tab. |
Stub connection (119) |
|
Bolted moment connection (134) |
You can now specify different bolt properties for upper and lower flange bolts. |
Clip angle (141), Two sided clip angle (143) |
On the Bolts tab, you can now control the vertical bolt group position when the secondary part is sloped. |
Two sided clip angle (143) |
There are now two new safety connection types on the Parts tab. Clip angles are moved up to create a safety connection: Clip angles are notched at the bottom to create a safety connection: |
End plate (144) |
The component now works with secondary parts created from welded plates. |
Shear plate simple (146) |
|
Angle profile box (170) |
You can now select different profiles and define different properties for the top angle and bottom angle. The weld settings for the angles are also separate now. |
Shear stud (1010) |
You can now select on the Picture tab whether to create shear studs as profiles, studs, or bolts. You can also specify the profile, bolt, and stud properties. |
Stair base detail (1043) |
You can now use weld 3 as the weld between the vertical plate and the main part, and weld 4 as the weld between the angle cleat profile and the main part. |
U.S. Base plate (1047) |
|
