Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1

Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1 was released to resolve the following issues:

  • TTSD-75359: Updates in Trimble Connect in late 2025 may impact Tekla Structures 2024 service packs. Therefore, Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1 fixes an issue with listing folder contents in Trimble Connector for certain projects.

  • TTSD-75766: Previously, it was not possible to open an autosaved model when using Spanish as the Tekla Structures language. Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1 fixes this issue.

Users who need the fixes listed above should download Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1.

Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1 is a full installation package. Tekla Structures 2024 SP12.1 contains all the fixes from Tekla Structures 2024 SP12, along with the two additional fixes specified above.

Enhanced IFC4.3 export

The Tekla Structures IFC4.3 export now contains the following enhancements to meet mandatory building-domain requirements:

  • The IFC4.3 export schema has been updated to IFC 4X3_ADD2.

  • You can now export the building structure (IfcSite, IfcBuilding, IfcBuildingStorey) using the new IFC4.3 Export type options Reference view(IFC4.3) and Design transfer view (IFC4.3).

For more information, see Export in IFC format.

Required environment changes

You will need to update your copies of the IFC4 standard file, standard.ifc4export.json, and create property set configuration files for IFC4.3 if needed.

  • Re-create the standard.ifc4export.json if you are using the default property set configuration files, for example, Design transfer view default properties.xml or Reference view default properties.xml.

Updated property set configuration files are available in the common environment with the following names:
  • Design transfer view default properties (IFC4).xml

  • Design transfer view default properties (IFC4.3).xml

  • Reference view default properties (IFC4).xml

  • Reference view default properties (IFC4.3).xml

The property set files are located in ..\TeklaStructures\2024.0\Environments\common\inp.

TTSD-48482 Import, export, interoperability

You can now change the IFC entity for rebars. Previously, this was not possible.

TTSD-71433 Import, export, interoperability

Reference models: An IFC file originating from ArchiCAD could not be inserted as reference model in Tekla Structures. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72554 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: Previously, the DRAWING property was not exported in the IFC4 export. This issue has been fixed, and the DRAWING property is now exported.

TTSD-72561 Import, export, interoperability

Bolt heads in IFC export: Sometimes, bolt heads had an incorrectly large diameter when they were exported to IFC4 or IFC2x3. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-72975 Import, export, interoperability

Earlier, when showing properties by value in the property pane, the Additional matches section could show an IFC_ENTITY_OVERRIDE property that is not supposed to be modified, making it easy for users to make a mistake. This issue has now been fixed, and now these kinds of properties are not available in the property pane editor.

TTSD-73231 Import, export, interoperability

IFC2x3 export: Previously, if a rebar did not have a parent object, its assembly was sometimes exported to an incorrect building/storey, and thus in an incorrect location. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-73611 Import, export, interoperability

IFC4 export: The values for the attributes WEIGHT_TOTAL_IN_GROUP and TOTAL_WEIGHT_IN_GROUP are now exported.

TTSD-71410 Templates and reports

SHAPE attributes: The SHAPE attributes, such as SHAPE.ProductWeight or SHAPE.SurfaceArea, are now supported in the model inquire and IFC4 export.

TTSD-73348 Templates and reports

Template Editor: Template Editor stopped responding when newly added RGB colors were deleted from the color palette. This issue has now been fixed.

TSAC-9683 Drawings

Rebar group marking: The dimension line arrow symbols now consistently face the same direction. Previously, the arrow symbols could have different angles.

TTSD-65481 Drawings

View-specific dimensioning: The maximum number of dimensioning rules that can be added to the Dimensioning rules list was previously about 80. Now it has been increased to about 160. The number is not exact because it also depends on the length of the rule file names: with shorter names, the number is larger, and vice versa.

TTSD-74532 Drawings

Merging bolt hole marks: Earlier, it was possible to merge manually bolt hole marks for bolts with different oversized holes. This issue has now been fixed, and merging bolt hole marks with different oversized holes is no longer possible.

TTSD-70645 Modeling

Building hierarchy: The Name property of buildings, building sections, building storeys, and spaces can now contain a maximum of 61 characters. Previously, Name could contain a maximum of 21 characters.

TTSD-71056 Modeling

Now picking a point to inquire the coordinates no longer modifies the project base point unintentionally.

TTSD-73724 Modeling

Earlier, when the preliminary mark (PRELIM_MARK), a custom property (UDA), or similar was used as a part label element and did not have a value, a space character was shown in part labels in model views. This issue has now been fixed.

TTSD-73473 Licensing

When the XS_ALWAYS_CONFIRM_SAVE_WHEN_EXIT advanced option is set to FALSE, Tekla Structures does not show the Exit dialog when you close a model that does not have any changes after the last save. Previously, this behavior could unintentionally keep your subscription license reserved if you closed a model where there were no changes. Now, Tekla Structures releases or keeps the subscription license according to the value of the XS_DEFAULT_KEEP_ONLINE_LICENSE_CHECKBOX advanced option even when the Exit dialog is not shown.

If you want to select whether to keep your subscription license reserved each time that you close Tekla Structures, set the XS_ALWAYS_CONFIRM_SAVE_WHEN_EXIT advanced option to TRUE. This way, the Exit dialog is always shown when you close Tekla Structures.

TTSD-71606 Core

Now, when the shaded wireframe rendering is used in model view, the frontmost face of an object is more transparent, enabling better visibility of reinforcement and other objects behind it.

TTSD-72204 Core

Previously, in some cases, switching between models with different Tekla Model Sharing roles caused an exception and triggered the Support tool popup. This has now been fixed.

TTSD-73702 Core

Fillet edge visualization has been improved.

  • The visualization of fillet edges in shaded wireframe views has been improved. Fillet edges are now displayed as 60% transparent edge lines in DX rendered views.
  • The visualization of thin parts has been improved, particularly in Parts grayscale (Ctrl+3) rendering.
TTSD-73898 Core

Edge lines of objects now behave consistently when zooming in or out. Previously, edge lines occasionally disappeared and then reappeared on the next zoom step.

TTSD-74312 Import, export, interoperability (steel)

DSTV/NC: Earlier, when exporting a polybeam plate having a length larger than width and advanced option XS_USE_NEW_PLATE_DESIGNATION set to a value requiring to switch the width and length, the bending lines were created too short. This issue has now been fixed.
