1 General

1.1 Options

Options in the Components tab have been adapted to better fit the needs in steel construction. This concerns in particular the settings for the profile designation of the sheets as well as starting numbers for positioning:

2.1 Changes to Roles

To achieve better results on drawings, advanced options have been adapted:

  • For better results when dimensioning manufacturing drawings:
    • XS_PART_POSITION_TO_EDGE_NEAREST_TO_NEIGHBOUR=TRUE
    • XS_PART_DIMENSION_PLANES_TABLE=%XS_PROFDB%\dim_planes_table.txt
  • To make hidden bolts visible on general arrangement drawings:
    • XS_DRAW_BOLT_HIDDEN_LINES_IN_GA_DRAWINGS=TRUE
    • XS_DRAW_BOLT_OWN_HIDDEN_LINES_IN_GA_DRAWINGS=TRUE

3 Rebars

3.1 Rebar Shapes

The reinforcement shapes defined according to the SSHV guideline for Switzerland have been implemented in Tekla. In combination with the updated iron list, Tekla Structures recognises all shapes defined there. As a result, the correct shape number according to SSHV is also displayed for the attribute "SHAPE".

Based on this shape number, Tekla outputs the corresponding bending degree of the reinforcement (Fix, BG 1, BG 2, BG S) when querying the attribute CUSTOM.REBAR_BEND_CODE.

The improvements in reinforcement have been incorporated into the Swiss environment. This means, for example, that any rebars are extracted as straight bars as soon as you set the user-defined attribute Recognise as straight bar to Yes:

3.2 Rebar bending schedule

Bearing lengths are now extracted as normal positions. Accordingly, they are also included as an item on the first page of the list. This corresponds to the current requirements in consultation with customers and bending suppliers.

All shapes according to the SSHV guideline are now recognised and neatly displayed.

Complex shapes are now given more space in order to achieve the most readable representation possible.

Simplified bars as well as 3D bars are now displayed better.

We recommend that you use the new bar list and incorporate your customisations, e.g. logo, there if necessary.

3.3  Rebar Components

The component bearing length now creates a certain number of bars in a defined length (e.g.: 6m). Previously, a 1m long bar was created and specially displayed on the iron list.
