Interoperability - Structural PANDA integration

In the 2024 Service Pack 1 release, a Structural PANDA Import command has been added to the BIM Integration ribbon to enable PANDA export files to be imported into Tekla Structural Designer.

Structural PANDA is an intelligent, early stage, optioneering tool which can help to dramatically reduce the Embodied Carbon of building designs.

PANDA produces detailed engineering data for thousands of possible scheme options. The preferred designs can be saved and exported as raw data, carbon breakdown charts or as summary reports. PANDA includes functionality to export solutions from PANDA directly into Tekla Structural Designer using our existing CXL neutral file format.

Structural PANDA Import allows you to:

  • Import schemes from Structural PANDA directly into Tekla Structural Designer.

  • The integration automatically generates all Grids, Levels, Beams, Columns, Walls, Slabs, Bracing and Foundation objects.

  • You can then refine design schemes, check alternative material layouts, and import structural models which are both cost effective and carbon efficient.

This workflow can be also further enhanced in Tekla Structural Designer with the in-built Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce a more accurate calculation for the finalised projects.
