Ultimate limit state buckling (Columns: EC3 Eurocode)
Note: Classification for buckling
checks - For rolled I sections, RHS and SHS classification varies along the
member length due to the section forces changing along the member length - for
combined buckling, the worst classification of the whole member (column stack)
should be used. In theory it should be the worst classification in the segment
length considered for buckling. However, the segment lengths for lateral
torsional buckling, minor axis strut buckling and major axis strut buckling can
all be different. It is simpler and conservative therefore to use the worst
classification in the entire member length (column stack).
