Roof panel types
For wind and snow loading calculations it is important that the correct roof type has been assigned to each roof panel.
For wind loading calculations, you can choose from the following RoofTypes:
| RoofType | Example |
|---|---|
Default (if roof slope < 5 degrees) and Flat |
|
|
Default (if roof slope ≥ 5 degrees) and Monopitch |
|
| Duopitch |
|
| Hip Gable |
|
| Hip Main |
|
| Mansard |
|
For snow loading calculations, Tekla Structural Designer only has to distinguish between monopitch and pitched roofs. This is determined from the RoofType as follows:
| RoofType | For snow loading this is considered as: |
|---|---|
| Default | Monopitch |
| Flat | Monopitch |
| Monopitch | Monopitch |
| Duopitch | Pitched |
| Hip Gable | Pitched |
| Hip Main | Pitched |
| Mansard | Pitched |
