Graphics view settings

The Home > Model Settings > Graphics View Settings page allows you to control the display of miscellaneous items in 2D and 3D views in the current project.

Setting Description

Do not display values of story shear below

Allows you to limit the values of story shear for a new model. This way, you can easily ignore the small values of story shear that might otherwise detract you from the more important story shear values. The story shear values that are less than the limiting value are not displayed in the results view.

Default analysis method in results view The selected method is used when opening a new graphical view and switching to the results regime, provided that no analysis or design has been run in the current session. If analysis or design has been run the analysis method from that run is selected instead.

Show full pile length

Allows you to select whether Tekla Structural Designer displays the full length of piles or a shorter pile length that you can specify.

2x scale for column sections other than concrete

Allows you to double the scale of steel columns in 2D views in order to simplify viewing the columns and their orientation.

Sloped plane view - default orientation

When you first open a Sloped Plane view, it will be orientated according to this setting. The options are:

- Up slope upward

- Global Y direction upward

- Global X direction to the right (default)

When an individual Sloped Plane view is open, it's current orientation setting is indicated on the orientation button located at the bottom right of the view.

The button text changes to reflect the current orientation:

- = Up slope upward

- = Global Y direction upward

- = Global X direction to the right

You can toggle between the options by clicking the orientation button.
