File menu

The File menu contains those commands that you can use to perform file-related operations.


Button	Description
New	Create a new blank project from scratch. See: Start a new project
Open	Open an existing project. See: Open a project
Save	Save the active project.
Save As	Save the active project to a new name, or to a template.
Save Model Only	Save smaller model-only files without the analysis results. The model-only files can easily be shared amongst the project team.
Model Backups	Open the Model Backups dialog. This dialog contains a link to the folder containing the backs that have been made for the displayed Model ID. For further details, see: Work with autosave and backups
Close	Close the active project.
Print	Print the active view.
Start Revision	Record changes to this revision of the project. For further details, see: Record revisions
Send As Email	Create a new email with the project attached.
Contact Support	Automatically upload your model file and send it, together with your issue description and key information (needed by Support to assist you) about your installation and system, to your Local Support Team as defined in your Tekla Online Profile.
Exit	Prompts you to save any open project, and then closes Tekla Structural Designer.
