How to control scene content

You can select how much of information to display for each entity type in the active scene view from the Scene Content window.

The Scene Content window contains:

Entity categories (with check boxes)

Some categories have arrow symbols to their side, indicating sub categories. Click the arrow symbol in order to see the sub categories.

The checkbox controls whether the entity category and its associated information is displayed. You can check the entities that you want to display and clear the ones that you do not.
Entity information controls

Entity information controls list the information in each category that will be displayed. When clicked, they expand to lists that allow you to select the information you want to display in the model view.

Open the Scene Content window

If Scene Content is set to Auto Hide the Scene Content tab will be docked on the edge of the main window:

Click the tab to expand the Scene Content window.

Or, if the Scene Content window has been closed:

You can re-open it from the Windows tab of the ribbon.

Select items in the Scene Content window

To view the sub categories of an entity category:
- Click the arrow sign on the left side of the category name.
To view a category in the model view:
- Select the checkbox on the left side of the category name.
To hide a category in the model view:
- Clear the checkbox on the left side of the category name.
Note:
If you hide an entity category, you can no longer perform some commands that affect that entity category.

For example, if you hide slab items, you cannot define slab or area loads on a floor because there are no slab panels to select.
To adjust the information viewed in the model view:
1. Click the cell on the right side of the category name.
  
  A list of possible details opens.
2. Select the details you want to view.
3. Click OK.

Reinstate the default Scene Content selections

You can discard your current selections and reinstate the default Scene Content selections at any time. This is done as follows:

Close the current view.
Re-open the view using the Structure tree.

Note: Scene Content selections are not saved in Settings, therefore while you can reinstate the defaults as described above, you cannot customize the defaults themselves.
