Run an analysis
If you want run a specific analysis type, or run all the analyses required to generate member design forces without running the design itself, you can do so for the majority of analysis types directly from the Analyze ribbon.
If you intend to run a combined analysis and member design you can do so directly from the Design ribbon, as there is no actual requirement to run the analyses separately beforehand.
Click the links below to find out more:
- Run a 1st order linear or non-linear analysis
- Run a 2nd order linear or non-linear analysis
- Run a staged construction analysis
- Run FE chasedown or grillage chasedown analysis
- Run a RSA seismic analysis
- Run a 1st order modal analysis
- Run a 2nd order buckling analysis
- Run Analyze All (Static)
- Run 3D only (Static)
If you are working to US codes and you intend to subsequently design the model, in order to meet stability and design requirements you will need to ensure the workflow you adopt meets the requirements of The Direct Analysis Method.
Two further analysis types are available which are not accessed from the Analyze ribbon.
- Rigorous slab deflection analysis can be accessed from the Slab Deflection ribbon. This uses iterative cracked section analysis to calculate slab deflections.
- Footfall analysis can be accessed from the Footfall Analysis ribbon. This type of analysis is used for assessing human induced vibrations on floors.
