Overview of the Project Workspace

The Project Workspace consists of several tabbed windows to facilitate specific modeling and design operations.


Project Workspace windows

Structure

The Structure window contains a tree for controlling many aspects of the model including: opening scene views; working with construction levels, frames, and slopes; controlling grids; defining and viewing sub models; creating and designing sub structures; viewing, modifying and designing entities.

Groups

The Group window contains a tree for organizing members in to design groups.

Loading

The Loading window contains a tree which lists the individual loads that have been applied in each loadcase. After analysis it sums the applied loads in each loadcase and combination and checks these against the sum of reactions.

Wind

The Wind window contains a tree which is used after completing the wind modeling process to display wind direction views, modify wind directions, and modify wind loadcases.

Status

The Status window contains the a tree for reviewing the validation messages and other model status indicators.

Connections

The Connections window contains a tree which organizes the model’s steel connections in a hierarchical way, by Type (i.e. Type/Reference), and by Group (i.e. Type/Section size/Reference).

Report Index

The Report Index window contains a tree with bookmarks that can be used to move around the report when a report view is displayed.

Tip: If you click X in the top right corner to close of any of the above windows, you can re-open them from the Windows tab of the ribbon. For more information, see: How to hide, re-display and move windows

Project Workspace commands

Right clicking on a tree branch in any of the above windows displays a context sensitive menu of commands.
