Open a Solver View

You can open a new solver view from the Structure tree context menus (1), or you can switch an existing view to a solver view by clicking Solver View (2) in the Status bar.

Open a 3D Solver View

  1. Open the Structure tab in the Project Workspace.
  2. In the Structure tree, right-click Structure.
  3. From the context menu, select Open Solver View.

A structure 3D-solver view is displayed.

You can now select the solver model type (see below).

Open a 2D Solver View

  1. Open the Structure tab in the Project Workspace.
  2. In the Structure tree, right-click on the required Level, Frame or Slope.
  3. From the context menu, select Open Solver View.

A 2D-solver view of the level, frame. or slope is displayed.

You can now select the solver model type (see below).

Change an existing view to a Solver View

  1. Open an appropriate 2D or 3D view.
  2. To change the view type of the view, do one of the following:
    • Right-click the view tab and in the context menu, select Solver view.
    • In the Status bar at the bottom of the window, click Solver View.
You can now select the solver model type (see below).

Select the solver model type

  1. In the Method list on the Solver ribbon, select the required solver model type.
The solver model that was created the last time analysis was run is displayed.

Select Refresh Solver Model if changes have been made and you want to see the model that would be created if analysis were re-run now.

  2. To see properties that have been assigned; select solver nodes, solver elements (1D) or solver elements (2D) as required.
Properties for the selected objects are then displayed in the Properties window.
Note: The properties displayed are the ones used the last time the analysis was run, after the application of any modification factors. (If you change modification factors you need to re-run the analysis in order to see the changed effects both in terms of analysis results and in the properties reported in the solver model view.)
Note: If viewing a chasedown solver model in a Structure solver view, the section/material properties for 2D solver elements are not displayed. In order to see these properties you would need to open an appropriate sub-model solver view instead.
Note: When Only Existing is selected on the Solver ribbon, only models created by last analysis runs are available for selection. When unselected you can also view models that would be created for some analysis types that have not yet been run.
