Add a span into an existing beam

You can quickly add a span into an existing beam in both 2D and 3D views by introducing a new node.

  1. Select the beam in a 2D or 3D view.

The nodes at each end and at the mid-point become visible.

  2. Select the node at the mid-point.

In the Select Entity tooltip this is described as a 'New node on ...'

  3. Click a point where you want to the new node to be created.

This can either be a valid point within the span

or, a a grid or construction point offset from the beam centerline
The new node is introduced into the beam and the original span is split according to the position specified, into two inline spans,
    or two angled spans.
