Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit 2023©
Tekla Structural Designer Integrator is now compatible with the Autodesk Revit© 2023 package. Integration with regards to imports, exports and merges into this platform are now available and includes the updates listed below.
The update of the Analytical model in Revit 2023 has meant that a significant update was required to the Tekla Structural Designer Integrator and the workflow.
New User Interface
With the update of the Analytical modeling process, two new commands have been introduced to the user interface:
- Create Analytical Model
- Check Analytical Association
Create analytical model
For new models in Revit 2023, the analytical model is no longer created with the physical. It is therefore necessary to create the analytical model independently.
Revit has provided their own Analytical Automation tool to do this which adds analytical members, panels and openings and will automatically associate them to their physical counterparts. However, during investigation of this new functionality we noticed the analytical connectivity was, in some cases, not ideal for integrating with Tekla Structural Designer.
For this reason we have added functionality to Create Analytical Model(s) which are more compatible with the integration between Tekla Structural Designer and Revit 2023.
Selected part of Structural Model
The analytical model can be created for the selected part of the structural model. Similar to the integration process, you can select part of your model before running the Create Analytical Model operation to create associated analytical instances for only those selected physical instances.
Use of filtered views, scope boxes and selection sets can help quickly generate analytical models of selected instances.
Update existing
The Update Existing option is intended to update previously generated analytical instances which are associated with physical instances altered by manual methods or by the integration process.
It updates the position of the analytical instance to the default generation locations.
Check Analytical Association
For integration with Tekla Structural Designer, all objects must have an analytical instance associated with the physical.
This command has been added to detect any physical objects that do not have an associated analytical instance. This command is primarily used when Analytical Member and Analytical Panel instances have been created manually.
Selected part of Structural Model
The command to Check Analytical Association can also be run for a selected part of the structural model. Simply select part of your model before running the Check Analytical Association command to only check the selected physical instances.
Use of filtered views, scope boxes and selection sets can help quickly with the checking process of selected instances.
Current limitations and workarounds
Due to the new workflows involved in creating the analytical model in Revit 2023, there are a number of limitations and workarounds especially as regards the Analytical Automation. Please refer to the installed Integration with Autodesk Revit 2023 - Guidance Documentation for further information.
