Automated events

By creating automated events in Maintenance, you can have Tekla PowerFab perform operations either on demand or automatically according to a set schedule.

For example, you can create automatic reports to stay up to date on the progress of a project. For database backups, utilizing an automated event ensures reliable backups.

Note: The Tekla PowerFab Remote Server must be running in order for automated events to run as scheduled.

If the Tekla PowerFab Remote Server is running normally, the message at the top of the dialog is black.

If the Tekla PowerFab Remote Server is not running, the message at the top of the dialog is highlighted in red and warns you that automated events will not be run as scheduled.

You can view the run history of an automated event, and if an error occurs you get a brief description. See View the run history of an automated event.

Users with administrator rights need to grant the relevant access rights for other users on the Company Standards tab in File > Administration. See Manage user permissions.

Available automated events


Automated event	Description
Database Backup	Creates backups of the Tekla PowerFab database. The backup copies are saved as a compressed file to the folder designated as the backup location in Default Directories.
Optimize Database Tables	Optimizes the tables and their fields in the MySQL database. These files may be useful when creating or customizing reports.
Report	Creates the selected report. You can specify a location for saving the report and and an email account for sending the report to.

ProNest Inventory Sync	Syncronizes inventory from ProNest to Tekla PowerFab See also ProNest: Manage inventory, cut lists, and nests

SigmaNest Inventory Sync	Synchronizes inventory from SigmaNest to Tekla PowerFab See also SigmaNest: Nest plates

Production Status Export	Exports production status from Tekla PowerFab to Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, or SDS/2. See also the following: Export the production status to Tekla Structures or Advance Steel Import from Tekla PowerFab Export the production status to SDS/2 SDS2 integration
Publish to ProjectSight	Publishes drawings and their revisions to ProjectSight. See also Trimble ProjectSight: Manage projects
Publish to Trimble Connect	The selected actions take place when the event is run. Publish to Organizer: Publish jobs to Trimble Connect Organizer. Publish to Status Sharing: Publish jobs to Trimble Connect Status Share. Sync BCF Topics: Sync BCF Topics from Trimble Connect to Tekla PowerFab. See BCF Topics. Projects: Publish project management jobs to the selected applications. Estimates: Publish estimating jobs to the selected applications. Production Control Jobs: Publish production control jobs to the selected applications.
Tekla Structures Info Sharing	Shares the selected detailing guidelines to a detailer when using Tekla Connector. See also Share detailing guidelines.
Tekla Structures Submittal Sync	Imports submittals from Tekla Structures to a specific Trimble Connect project when using Tekla Connector See also Share detailing guidelines.
API Log Check	Searches the API log to find any failed commands since the last log check, and sends an email with the failed entries to the selected email addresses.
Trimble Viewpoint Job Costing Export	Exports job costing transactions to Trimble Viewpoint. See also Export job costing transactions.
Trimble Viewpoint Receiving Export	Exports receiving transactions to Trimble Viewpoint. See also Export purchase orders with receiving transactions to Trimble Viewpoint.
Purchase Order XML Import	Imports purchase orders to Tekla PowerFab. See also Import files to Tekla PowerFab.
