Conditional formatting of a Stimulsoft report

You can use conditional formatting to change the design of components.

Once a component has been allocated a condition, an icon is displayed for it in the report editor.

You can view existing conditions on the Property panel for the selected item.

Add a simple condition

A simple condition is good for setting threshold values where the report can highlight unexpectedly high or low values.

You can change the color of text based on values to indicate if a value is less than zero or a drawing that is on hold, for example.

  1. To change the visual style of a component, select it do either of the following:
    • Click Conditions on the toolbar.
    • Click the three-dot ellipsis for Conditions in the Appearance section in Properties.

  2. To add a Highlight Condition, click Add Condition.

    Example:

If the line item is not a MainPiece, unselect Component is Enabled. This sets the enable flag of the label to false. Then the label is shown only when the item is a MainPiece.

If you keep Component is Enabled selected, the label will still show and it is possible to add a highlight to the field, select a border, and use a different font, for example.

Add icons

You can add icons to identify components with specific conditions.

The following procedure provides an example for part weight.

  1. Select the component displaying the part weight.
  2. Add a condition.
    • Click Conditions on the toolbar.
    • Click the three-dot ellipsis for Conditions in the Appearance section in Properties.
  3. Click Add Condition.
  4. Select Icon Set Condition.
  5. In Color Scale Type, select 3-Color Scale.
  6. Specify the data field.

  7. To reverse the icons, click Reverse.
  8. Specify values for each icon.

As a result, you can see the value and the icon for each row of data.
