Manage production schedules

You can plan work package schedules based on the estimated hours or weight to be completed by a department per week. The number of hours per department for a work package can either be input manually or calculated from the production codes in Estimating.

The following is an overview of the various actions related to production scheduling. Note that you need to create work packages to use the planning functionality. The actual planning takes place in Tekla PowerFab Go.

  1. Users with administrator rights: Manage the users' access to actions related to departments and shifts in the Departments and Department Shifts sections on the Production Control tab in File > Administration > Edit Permissions.
  2. Users with administrator rights: Manage the users' access to actions related to work package schedules in the Planning section on the Work Packages tab, in File > Administration > Remote Permissions.
  3. Define planning settings.
  4. Define workshops and divide them into work areas.
  5. Create departments and shifts.
  6. Assign departments to stations.
  7. Apply routes to the work package.
  8. Define department capacities (hours or weight) by workshop.
  9. Allocate completed weight/hours to the correct work area.
  10. Manage production schedules in the Production Planner in Tekla PowerFab Go.
