Assign a cost code and cost type to an estimate item

You can assign cost codes and cost types to items in estimates. By establishing cost codes and cost types at the estimating stage of your project, you have better summary reporting of your project that aligns with your job costing practices.

Before you start, make sure you have created cost codes and cost types in Maintenance > Purchasing. See Manage cost codes and Manage cost types.

In the Select Estimating Job dialog, open a job.
To assign a cost code or cost type to a single item, select the item.
In the input area, select the cost code or cost type from the dropdown list.
Click Save.
