Find a document in Document Index

You can search the document index records by file properties.

  1. Go to Maintenance > Document Index > By Directory.

    The Document Index - By Directory dialog opens.

  2. Click Search.

    The Search dialog opens.

  3. Do a search.

    All fields are optional.

    Directory: Select a directory in the document index directory structure.

    Sub-Directories: Select to search in subdirectories

    Filename: The filename to search for. Supports wildcards (*) and multiple entries separated by a semicolon (;).

    Ext: File extension to search for, supports wildcards (*) and multiple entries separated by a semicolon (;).

    Source: File source company and contact. If the contact box is left blank, the search covers files from any contact from the selected company.

    File Size: Minimum and maximum file size in bytes.

    File Date: Minimum and maximum file date.

    Date Loaded: Minimum and maximum date loaded into the document index.

    Include All Archive Files: If this is unchecked, archive files (zip files) are excluded from the search results unless they contain more than one file.

  4. Click Search.

    The search result displays a list of matching documents.

Double-click a document to view the File Details dialog.
