Tekla Structures Connector

Using the Tekla Structures Connector functionality, the detailer can submit packages for estimating, purchasing, and fabrication from Tekla Structures directly to Tekla PowerFab. When a detailer has submitted a package, you get a notification and can view and manage the submittals in Tekla PowerFab.

To enable collaboration using the Tekla Structures Connector workflow, both the fabricator using Tekla PowerFab and the detailer using Tekla Structures must be connected to the same Trimble Connect project. The Trimble Connect project can be created in Tekla PowerFab, Tekla Structures, and Trimble Connect. See Link a project to Trimble Connect.

You also need to define project contacts and invite them to the Trimble Connect project. See Manage project contacts and Link Tekla PowerFab to Trimble Connect.

To focus on critical changes that affect material purchasing, you can define ABM settings that you can share with the detailer. See Define ABM settings in Define company standard settings for Advance Bill.

For the detailer to be able to use the profiles, materials and finishes supported by you, you need to share your detailing guidelines. See Share detailing guidelines. You also need to create Tekla Structures Info Sharing event in Automated Events .

You get notifications of submittals on the Tekla PowerFab desktop. You can either rely on the automated events or you can also manually synchronize data in the relevant modules to decide on the next action. You can decide to import or reject the submittals and add notes to send to the detailer. See View and import submittals

For information on submitting data in Tekla Structures, see Tekla PowerFab Connector.
