Global edit

With Global Edit, you can update multiple records at the same time. Global editing is available in most modules.

There are normally two options available:

Global Edit: Displays the Filters dialog box that allows you to filter the items that you want to update
Global Edit Selected: Updates only the selected rows in the display grid

You can open the global editing dialog boxes from the associated ribbon tab.

Example: Editing multiple items that are not reserved to a job in the Inventory module:

In the Inventory module, select [blank] in the navigation tree for Job #.
Select multiple rows in the display area.

To select multiple items, hold down Ctrl.

To select a range of subsequent items, hold down Shift.
Click the Inventory ribbon tab.
Select Global Edit > Global Edit Selected on the menu.

The Global Edit - Selected dialog box opens.
Select which fields should be updated for the selected rows.
Click Update.

The selected items are updated.
