Manage the project task list

You can create, modify, and delete task list items, and assign items on your task list to other Tekla PowerFab users.

You can view all existing tasks in the selected project and add completion dates for tasks that have been completed.

The task list items on a user's task list serve as reminders for the user that they have been assigned project tasks. The items on your task list can also be assigned to other users.

When a task has been assigned to a user, the Task List dialog box opens automatically when the user signs in to Tekla PowerFab. When the task is marked as completed, the Task List dialog box no longer opens when the user signs in.

Create a task list item

  1. To access the Task List dialog box manually, do either of the following:
    • In the Project dialog box, click Task List.

    • On the Summary tab of the Project dialog box, click + in the upper-left corner of the Task List section, and select which task list items you want to see.

    The Task List dialog box opens displaying the tasks for the selected job.

  2. Click New.
  3. Define the task properties.

    The items that are marked with an asterisk (*) in the following table are mandatory.

    Description

    Author

    The Tekla PowerFab user that created the task list item.

    Select a user in the list.

    Assigned To

    The Tekla PowerFab user to whom the task list item is assigned.

    Select a user in the list.

    Date Required

    The date by which the task list item should be completed.

    Select a date in the drop-down calendar.

    Date Completed

    The date when the task was completed.

    Select a date in the drop-down calendar.

    Description *

    The description of the task list item.

    Type the task description in the field.

  4. Click Add.

You can access the check list by selecting Check List on the Task List ribbon tab, and move check list items to the task list.

Modify a task list item

You can modify the properties of a task list item. You can, for example, add completion dates for tasks that have been completed.

  1. In the Task List dialog box, select the task list item that you want to modify.
  2. Modify the task list item properties.

    For the properties, see Create a task list item above.

  3. Click Edit to save the changes.

Delete task list items

Deleting a task list item is permanent and cannot be undone.

  1. In the Task List dialog box, select the task list items that you want to delete.

    To select multiple items, hold down Ctrl.

    To select a range of subsequent items, hold down Shift.

  2. Click Delete.

    You are prompted to confirm the deletion.

  3. To permanently delete the task list items, click Yes.

View task list reminders

You can view and manage task list items for all jobs at once.

In the Select Project Management Job dialog box, click Task List Reminders.

The Task List dialog box opens displaying task for all jobs.

You can create, modify, and delete tasks.
