Project schedule snapshots and savepoints

A snapshot represent the baseline plan at previous points in time. Each time you make a change to the project schedule, Tekla PowerFab automatically takes a snapshot. If you want to mark the snapshot as a particularly important point in the schedule, you can record it as a savepoint.

You can use the snapshots to compare the project schedule at two different points in time and view the impacts of changing the schedule. You can also load existing snapshots to view the project schedule at a particular point in time.

  1. In the Project Schedule dialog box, on the Baseline Plan tab, expand the Snapshots section by clicking the arrow on the left side of Snapshots.

    You can see the currently displayed snapshot after Currently Viewing Snapshot. If you are viewing the current project schedule, the value will be [Current].

    Load a snapshot
    1. In Schedule Snapshot, select a snapshot in the list.

      If you only want the list to display the savepoints that have been recorded, select the Only Show Savepoints checkbox.

    2. Click Load Snapshot.

    The Project Schedule dialog box displays the project schedule at the selected point in time.

    To view the current project schedule again, select [Current] in the Schedule Snapshot list.

    Record a savepoint
    1. In the Project Schedule dialog box, make any changes.
    2. Click Record Savepoint.

      The Snapshot dialog box opens.

    3. Type a description for the savepoint.
    4. Ensure that the Is Savepoint checkbox is selected.
    5. Click Save.

      You are prompted to confirm entering edit mode.

    6. Click Yes.
