Manage shipping destination groups

You can add a new destination to a shipping route, modify the properties of an existing destination, and delete destinations in the Shipping Route dialog box.

You can manage shipping destination groups when you are creating new shipping routes or modifying existing ones in the Shipping Route Maintenance dialog box in Maintenance > Production Control > Global Shipping Route Maintenance.

Add a new destination group

To add a new destination group to a shipping route, do the following in the Shipping Route dialog box:

  1. Click Add.

    The Shipping Destination Properties dialog opens.

  2. Type a descriptive name in Destination Group.
  3. Click Add Firm.
  4. Select the firm type and firm name, and click OK.

    You can only select firms that are already saved in the Address Book.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Save Destination.

Modify a destination group

To modify a destination group in a shipping route, do the following in the Shipping Route dialog box:

  1. In the Destination list, click the destination that you want to modify.
  2. Click Properties.

    The Shipping Destination Properties dialog opens.

  3. Modify the firms in the destination group:
    • To change the destination group, select from the Destination Group list.
    • To add a firm, click Add Firm, select the firm type and firm name, and click OK.

      You can only select firms that are already saved in the Address Book.

    • To remove a firm from the destination, click the firm, click Remove Firm, and click Yes to confirm deleting the firm.
    • To set a firm as the primary firm, click the firm, and click Set Firm as Primary.

      The primary firm will have the remaining totals reported against it in production statuses, production control reports, and project summary reports. However, parts assigned to the shipping route can be shipped for any of the firms that you have added.

  4. Click Save Destination.

Delete a destination group

To delete a destination group from a shipping route, do the following in the Shipping Route dialog box,

  1. In the Destination list, click the destination that you want to remove from the shipping route.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Click Yes to permanently delete the shipping route.

Remember to click Save Route to save the changes in the route.
