Document Index

Document Index is a place for storing files to be shared among other users with access so that everyone can easily keep up to date.

Every module, with the exception of Inventory and Order Entry, have their own Document Index area that allows various kinds of files to be stored within the appropriate module. For example, you may store design drawings in the Estimating document index and order acknowledgement files in the Purchase Order document index.

The structure of the Document Index can be customized for each module to define the required document categories and sub-categories.

You can set the Document Index in Default Directories. When a file is added to the document index, it is not saved into the MySQL database. It is copied into a directory under the base directory and the relative path to the file is saved in the database

You must first create a directory that can be accessed by all computers on your network and set it as your Document Index directory. The Document Index directory must be set on each computer. In a network setup, all computers must be set to the same base directory so that they can access the same files. See Default directories.
