Change order cost breakdown

When pricing a change order, you can now break down the cost impact by cost codes and cost types. Subsequently, the cost is more accurate and it is also transparent to other internal stakeholders.

Previously in Change Orders, it was possible to enter only a lump sum value, but now you can go override the lump sum and go into further detail by clicking the new Cost button.

A key element of job costing is being able to distinguish between the original budgeted values for each cost code and cost type including any adjustments based on approved change orders so that this can be compared against the actual values.

You can enter cost related items manually:

You can also copy cost items from an estimate by clicking the Copy from Estimate button, which opens the Select Estimating Job dialog box. You can select an existing estimate or create a new one.

Once you have entered and saved the cost items, you can find the total cost entered and locked within the change order.

You can open the change order in Tekla PowerFab Report Viewer to save, print, or email it.

You can also create various other reports on change orders.
