Define change order cost items

You can break down the cost impact of a change order by cost groups, cost codes, and cost types.

For instructions on accessing the Change Order dialog box, see Create a change order.

  1. In the Change Order dialog box, click Cost.

    You are prompted to confirm overriding the current value.

  2. Click Yes.

    The Change Order: Cost Items dialog box opens.

  3. Choose one of the following methods for defining the properties:
    To Do
    Define the properties manually
    1. Click New.
    2. Define the properties.
    3. To save the changes, click Add.
    Copy the properties from an estimate
    1. Click Copy from Estimate

      The Select Estimating Job dialog box opens.

    2. Select the estimate.
    3. Click Open.
  4. Click Save

The Cost is updated. This also changes the value in the Change Will Cause field in the Change Order dialog box. The cost items also show on the change order report.

To make changes to the cost, you must reopen the change order items.
